This hotel is an older building that has been kept updated. The hallways are dreary but my room was pleasant. I slept really well, due to a comfortable mattress and quiet room. (I had a corner room at the far end of the hallway; don't know if all rooms are so quiet.) In addition, Crowne Plazas provide little clips (think of the clips you use to close potato chip bags) that can be used to keep the window curtains from gapping. This makes the room much darker at night -- a real plus for sleeping. (I don't know why other hotels don't offer this inexpensive feature.) The folks at the front desk were always pleasant.
The hotel is directly across the street from the Columbus Convention Center, which can be accessed by an enclosed walkway on the second level. It IS a conference hotel, so you have lots of large groups checking in.
The hotel restaurant is Max and Emma's, which provided me with a good room-service dinner and breakfast.
In all, a pretty good place to stay in downtown Columbus.
