First the pros: staff was friendly, hallways were quiet, breakfast was decent, and it was pretty centrally located to where we wanted to be.

Now the cons: remote in room was broken, ice maker on our floor was broken, light between beds didn't work, both chairs in room had broken arms (you couldn't tell until you sat in the them), tile in shower had mildew in spots, elevator was very hot, carpet in the room had been vacuumed but it was stained and gross. We also didn't like the area this hotel was in. Also, the beds were pretty uncomfortable.

I read the reviews before we left and thought about cancelling. I thought how bad can it really be. It was pretty bad. We were in Columbus for COSI, Easton, and The Ohio State Fair. I was trying to do our trip as inexpensively as possible, and I learned a lesson.

Upon arrival, I stopped under the canopy right outside the front door and left my children, ages 6 & 12, in the car, thinking it would be fine while I ran inside and checked in. (Of course I locked the doors) When I came out, my kids were anxious to show me the "hitchhiker" who was stopping traffic outside of the hotel. They thought she was kind of strange and scary as they could hear her yelling at two several men in vehicled who stopped but drove away. Needless to say, she was not a hitchhiker. and this is a very seedy area in my opinion. I would have liked to leave, but I booked this hotel with Priceline and it was non refundable. The hallway past the front desk smelled of some unidentifiable odor I can only compare to a cat litter box. The carpet in the room was dirty with holes, and the bed had a bug on the pillow. I do not believe it was a bed bug but I really don't know as i don't think I've ever seen one but it was the only one (I did look through the bed and under the sheets.) Thankfully it was late when we checked in so we quickly went to sleep and left as early as possible. We stopped briefly to grab breakfast, but many things offered were gone. I was able to make the kids a waffle which was good and OJ out of the machine. You couldn't pay me to go back here.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for a wedding. When we checked in, we were told we had a double room, and asked if they would give us a king. The response was that it would "mess up his computer" if he changed our room.
We then walked to our room to see that the door was open, not closed. We pushed the door open and walked in, luckily no one was in the room.
After walking in the room, we soon discovered that the carpet was damp and squishy, not something you want to be walking on without shoes.
We went to pull back the sheets to discover hair in the bed. Decided that wasn't the bed to sleep on. Luckily the other bed was fine. The bathroom was average, though we did find hairs in the sink.
Needless to say, if this is any indication of other Baymont Inns, we won't be staying at one anytime in the near future, and would sleep in our car before staying at this particular Baymont.

We checked in Tuesday the very sweet black girl gave us a second room after the first one smelled bad and had dirty walls and carpet. the lobby carpet was so filthy I wanted to turn around and leave. We had to stay as we booked the room from priceline. The front desk was always abandoned.
