While the outside of this Hyatt Place is a bit underwhelming (most are), it more than makes up for it on the inside. Check-in, with a real person - not their goofy kiosk thing - was a breeze, and my traveling partner and I were relaxing in our room for what turned out to be a very pleasant 3 night stay. Spacious, comfortable room, with excellent beds, and an efficient workspace to boot! The price we paid was 30-40% less than many of the comparable properties in the area, which is another thing I've come to appreciate with Hyatt Place.
As far as location, you couldn't ask for more good dining options within a 5 minute walk, which is unusual in a suburban location.
On top of all of that, when I stupidly left my garment bag in the closet the hotel staff was able to quickly contact my wife (I give my cell phone, now), who had me turning around and picking it up before we left the Columbus Metro area.

This hotel is very clean and the rooms are great like all Hyatt Places I like the suite feel that the rooms have and the large TV's. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only issues wtih the hotel were a lack of hot water in the shower in the morning and the shower area is extremely small. the TV reception was also spotty. The the networks were in HD and great, after that it went downhill quickly. ESPN never came in at all and the oterh channels were SD which is not great on a 42in flat screen.
Overall the hotel was nice and I would stay again but I hope they fix the TV issues and pipe in some hot water.

The staff is friendly and the room is large for the price, however, the layout of the room is "uncomfortable" to say the least. The "main" bathroom with the toilet and shower is a very small space and to use the sink you have to leave that room and walk to the sink, which is over a carpeted area - who knows what kind of mold can grow from that? As the front desk person said, "there isn't much to look at". On the subject of front desk attendants and staff in general there are very few of them and I didn't need much assistance but they were more than happy to help & I never encountered a bad attitude. I must mention that, if I remember correctly, the hotel is almost right across the street from a Motel 6 & a supposedly 'rowdy' bar. I didn't hear much noise from the outside and the walls seemed to be very good at keeping out noise. The pillows/beds are horrible, absolutely the worst hotel beds I've ever slept on. I eventually had to just get rid of the pillow. There were also stains on the bedsheets. There are a total of two sinks & the second sink is in the mini bar area. The couch is a pullout bed, but it was not comfortable and they ended up just sleeping on the couch itself. There is also a desk area with a powerful light, there is ample lighting. The TV was huuuuge - (it swiveled by the way) but we never got to watch anything. The heater is awfully noisy and had to turn it off to get any sleep. The hotel grounds are pretty clean and has a pleasant decor. The "breakfast buffet" is pretty weak - I didn't enjoy the oatmeal but other people said it was "the best they've had at a hotel". The only utensils the hotel had were plastic spoons.

All in all it has a okay value, I couldn't have asked for much more from a 3star hotel.

I tried this Hyatt Place because it was a bit cheaper than the Hyatt Place located near the OSU campus. I have stayed at that Hyatt Place several times and you couldn't ask for a better room so I was anxious to compare the two. The looks of this Hyatt Place could have you wondering what kind of room is on the inside. The outside is very plain and not modern at all. The concrete coming in to the lobby could use some power washing to give a more welcoming and clean entrance to the hotel. Inside though, the hotel is wonderful. Very modern and decorated nicely. The lobby area is smaller than the one on campus but every bit as nice and clean.The rooms are exactly the same only with a smaller bathroom. Wonderful beds and pillows, a huge flat screen tv, granite countertops, and very clean! I went down to the breakfast area the next morning and the continental breakfast was very nice and had a various array of breakfast foods. I was very satisfied with this hotel!
