My girlfriend and I flew in for the weekend to catch a Buckeyes football game. We had no issues whatsoever with checking in. The girl at the desk was nice and greeted us warmly. The hotel is located about a mile from the campus on a main road leading to the highway, but it is nestled far enough back where road noise is not an issue. It is also within walking distance to a couple of restaurants, a Burger King was located at the entrance. All of the sporting venues at The Ohio State University were roughly a 20-30 minute walk from the hotel. The free breakfast they offer is typical of a small hotel. Coffee, danish and mini-boxed cereals were offered and satisfied what we needed satisfied. We didn't have too much time to enjoy it anyway since I was in a hurry to get to the Horseshoe, which is beyond describeable in itself.
For an average of $95/night over a Fri + Sat stay, I expected less and was pleasantly surprised at how much liked the place.
We had to leave very early on Sunday morning to catch our flight home and the guy at the front desk, despite the time of morning, or how long he'd even been there, and the fact that it was still pitch black outside, was very nice and we had no problem checking out.
My only issues with the hotel were that the shower and the temperature was very inconsistent. It went from hot to cold very quickly and was unpredictable. Also, eventhough I had no intention of using the pool, it was not clean. Granted, it was almost the first day of Fall, but it was a very warm weekend and it looked like the pool and the surrounding area, hadn't been cleaned in a couple of days, or possibly weeks.
I would definitely consider staying here again on my future trips to Columbus.
