We arrived on a Friday afternoon. Our room was ready but we were not ready for the surprise that was waiting for us. We were in a king/suite. When we walked in to the bedroom we noticed a big wet spot that was coming out of the air conditioner, and the remote control did not work for the t.v. We called the front desk and someone came right up to fix it.Theguy they sent up to fix the remote said they already knew about tthe wet floor. I don't know why they let us check in to that room if it was in such poor condition. They sent another guy up with a shop vac to clean it up, but it was only temperary. Little did we know then, the air conditioner was stuck on high and when someone in the next room was smoking it blew full force in to our room. The pool looked filthy and the hot tub that has been broken for years is still broken. The toilet seat was also broken. They did move us to another room in the morning and all the issues were resolved. The breakfast was very average. The eggs were terrible, hard and rubbery but the coffee and the made to order waffles were good. There was no sausage or bacon. Very bare bones breakfast. We did have strawberries and whipped cream . We had a deal where you paid for two nights and got the third free. It averaged out to $72 a night. Good location for the zoo and science museum.
Since my younger children really enjoy swimming I would choose a location with a better pool next time. If I were traveling with my family again I would choose a hotel in a better neighborhood. This one was scary in the daytime. I am glad we did not have to go out after dark.
