“Great Value, by comparison”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

By comparison, this was a very good value, as I was looking for a place that had a full jacquzzi in the room, that fit two people, very comfortably, not just some jets in a one person bathtub. The hot breakfast was complementary and good, the young lady at the front desk, Robin, was a pleasure to work with and took very good care of us, when we had a slight issue with the shower. The manager came up, himself, to see what the problem was and was back within a few minutes, to take care of it. Overall, the room was clean and comfortable and I was out the door at $105, for me and my girlfriend. The other places, in the area, had only the tubs with jets and were charging, up to $179, without the complimentary breakfast. I will definitely be back and looking forward to another great experience.

“Beware the Highway Noise”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

The incessant highway noise here makes it almost impossible to fall asleep.
Initially, my wife and i thought the noise wouldn't be too distracting, but it really is hard to sleep with the constant buzz-buzz of semis driving by on a 8-lane highway that is literally 150 feet from your head (i measured it on google earth.) It made for a very un-restful night.
Bring very good earplugs or sound canceling headphones if you are going to brave staying here.

Room Tip: Perhaps on south side, as far to the west as possible, but not sure whether it would be any quieter.

“Very nice hotel in a not-so-nice location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

This was my first experience with Country Inns. I chose this one primarily because it was located close to where I had to be for an early morning appointment in Columbus.

The Inn is located in what I'd call a "motel ghetto" and although I don't normally use that term in a disparaging way, in this case it fits. This nicely kept property stands in contrast to some very grungy-looking neighbors: Unkempt cheaper motels and what appears to be a former Hampton Inn that must have been converted into apartments. My first impression was not positive.

Fortunately, the accommodations turned out to be pretty much what I had hoped for: Clean, comfortable and mostly attractive. The lobby is especially impressive. My one-bedroom suite was well furnished, although there were some signs of wear here and there. The king bed and pillows were quite comfortable. The bathroom is quite dated, with just a small wall-mounted sink and few surfaces on which to set things (other than the toilet...yuck). The shower was pretty nice, however, and I had loads of towels.

The lighting in the living area could use some improvement, and the two TV sets were the most low-definition sets I've seen in a long time. But then, what do I expect for the price? I paid a AAA rate of only $58.50 which is an incredible value for the amount of space.

One other negative: This inn is perhaps 300 feet from I-71, which means constant highway noise. I knew that when I chose this inn, but it has been so long since I've stayed in a roadside hotel that I wasn't fully prepared for the racket of traffic all night long.

Still, I was impressed with this Country Inn, especially the spotless housekeeping, decent breakfast offerings and efficient staff. I'd stay here again but I if I could find a similarly priced alternative in a quieter, more attractive location I'd consider that too.

Room Tip: I'm not sure how much it would help, but try to get a room that's as far away from I-71 as p...

“A bit shabby but a good value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

I stayed here for one weekday night on business. When I first walked in, I felt like I'd struck gold. The lobby area is beautiful and immaculate, and my inexpensive King room had a living space, kitchenette with mini-fridge and microwave, and separate bathroom and bedroom. However, my room was a bit rough around the edges. The carpet, bedspread, and some of the furniture was stained--nothing gross, just very used. The non-smoking room smelled faintly of smoke, and because it overlooked I-71, I could hear the traffic all night. None of these things were big problems: the room was certainly not dirty, the bed was comfortable, there was free Wi-Fi, the free breakfast was good enough, the staff was very friendly, the small fitness center had nice equipment, and I felt completely safe. My room rate was $85, and for that price, it was definitely a good deal. I would stay here again, and if you get a good deal on it, you will be satisfied with your stay too. But overall the hotel and experience were average.

“A great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 November 2011

This was a very nice, clean, orderly hotel and an excellent price. We took advantage of a pay ahead/non-refundable offer, and the price was 35% lower than any one else in the area. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was great, with both hot and cold food, as usual. We have never been disappointed yet at a Country Inns & Suites.
