The TownePlace Suites by Marriott is the best extended stay property I've experienced. The room reminds me a little of a Courtyard by Marriott property (in terms of decor), only with the addition of a couch and kitchen. Much better than the other extended stay properties I've been sent to for work in the past (mainly Extended Stay America properties).

The room was clean, and I like the daily refresh service. They make the bed, exchange towels and take out the trash daily. On a weekly basis, they change bed linens and clean the kitchen. The front desk is also 24/7, which is different than most extended stay properties.

The rooms could use a little work (mine had stained window curtains, a worn shower curtain, and a broken coffee machine), but overall they are in great shape for an extended stay hotel. The mattresses seem fairly new and very firm. The 32" LCD TV is a nice addition.

My sheets from the first week had a small stain on them. Not a huge deal as they had clearly been washed, but this is something the housekeeping staff should have caught.

Overall, my experience has been good and I wouldn't hesistate to stay at TownePlace Suites again if I need an extended stay property.

My family and I had an overnight stay here while we visited the Columbus Zoo. The outside was very nice, the outdoor pool was very clean and the staff was courteous and helpful. The location was in a nice area with other hotels, a few office buildings and a few restaurants. I was very pleasantly surprised at how clean our suite was. The kitchenette wasn't gross, the fridge was spotless and everything else was as it should be. There were 3 flat screen tvs in the unit (each bedroom and the living room) which was wonderful for a party of 5 settling down to relax.
I don't believe anything is ever perfect and the sofabed wasn't working properly to pull out so we draped an extra sheet over it and my son slept on it like a couch. He was comfortable but I guess if there were 6 of us it would have been a problem.
They do allow pets so if you have allergies it is something you might want to take note of. I have allergies but I did not have any problems. There were no gobs of animal hair anywhere. The suite next to ours had several barking dogs in it and I went to the desk to inquire what the policy was. The clerk was very kind and offered to place us in another unit. I said the dogs were probably stressed from their owners being out and I was sure they would calm down once they came back so I decided to wait and see. Sure enough when the neighbors came back the animals quieted down so there were no problems. It was reassuring that I had that option though.
I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for an inexpensive, clean, friendly place in the area.

This was only a stopover for us - not a long term stay. So for the one night only and after driving most of the day - I put up with what I wouldn't have if our stay had been any longer. Our room was on the first floor and my memory of it is the one that was dark and damp. The parking lot is small and was crowded. The check in clerk couldn't have cared less - seemed ticked that we were using a Marriott gift card as payment?? The bed was not comfortable - had a valley down the middle and it was all we could do to keep from rolling to center all night. But the worst thing was the damp wet carpet! Maybe it had just been cleaned and wasn't dry yet - I don't know. But I could not walk around in socks - that's how wet it was. Creepy. But lesson learned - I had never stayed at one of these hotels by Marriott - and most likely won't again. Oh and the "breakfast" is a joke.

We stayed here for 4 days. It's a completely non-smoking hotel (as are all Marriott properties) which was a plus for us. The room, while small-ish, had a full kitchen, including a 4-burner stove and oven. The room was very clean - in fact, the entire building seemed well taken care of. I used the laundry room - 3 washers and 3 working dryers - and one load was finished in an hour, due to the large capacity dryers. Shower water pressure was great. Breakfast is minimal - 6 varieties of cereal, bananas and apples, individually wrapped muffins and granola bars, milk and juice. Coffee and hot water are available 24/7. The outdoor pool area is kind of small, but clean. Exercise room is very small, but they have an agreement with a fitness facility nearby. Rooms have wired internet. Pets are allowed here - there's a flat charge for them. The only drawback are the trains that come by fairly frequently. I tuned them out after the first few, and they didn't keep me up at night. There are restaurants and fast food nearby. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a safe and comfortable place to stay.
