“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

I had a one night stay at the end of January to attend a business meeting and was very pleased and actually quite impressed with the service. The front desk staff were absolutely wonderful, the best I've encountered and I travel frequently and stay at many high end hotels.

The property was in a great location and very clean. My room was absolutely spotless.

I'd refer anyone who needed a place to stay to this location in Columbus

“Great Hotel Just Minutes Away from Many Columbus Attractions”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

This hotel is located just minutes from many attractions and downtown Columbus, Ohio. The hotel is a perfect place to stay if attending an Ohio State football game, or if you're in town on business. Next to the hotel is the Buckeye Grille, which is one of the best places to catch an Ohio State game if you're sans ticket. It is truly a tribute to all things Buckeye sport related. There is also a neighboring spa, deli and an Urban Active gym. The Hyatt Place was a very relaxing and accommodating hotel; we only stayed for one evening but wish we were there longer. Upon check-in the staff upgraded our room free of charge. We loved the room! It was fully equipped with a nice office space, mini-fridge, sitting area and roomy bathroom area. Unfortunately, it was January when we stayed, and we couldn't enjoy the lovely balcony that was part of our upgraded room. It was still a neat feature with decent views of the downtown skyline. The bed was very comfortable and helped soothe my ailing back. We enjoyed the pool area during our stay; a little chilly but it was still a treat! I would highly recommend this hotel for a night away from the kids, a business trip or a quick visit to Columbus. We will gladly return for another night away from home as we are from Columbus.

“very nice!!”

This hotel is just a short distance west of downtown Columbus and is very conveniently located about midway between OSU campus and German Village. Being new, the rooms are in excellent condition and are quite roomy. The breakfast features cold cereals and oatmeal as well as fruit, juices, milk, coffee and bread. The area is currently under construction due to expansion of the interstate road system but is easily navigated. I was quite pleased with the entire facility and would not hesitate to recommend it,

Room Tip: Free parking in a covered garage about 40 ft fom entance to hotel

“Outstanding Columbus Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

We were thrilled during a one night stay here on New Years Eve. This hotel has an excellent location: Close to Grandview, Short North, OSU, and Downtown. The area is very secure and I liked that the parking garage was free, and had limited entrances/exits to deter theft or vandalism. The exterior is very attractive, reminiscent of the style of the Arena District, and is a short walk to several restaurants and a gym in the same complex.

The lobby and casual dining areas are spacious and stylish, showcasing clean modern contemporary design. There's a wide variety of places to sit and relax, and the colors and finishes make for calming and relaxing environment. It also has a small gym and indoor pool, which we enjoyed swimming in and viewing the December 31st Ohio weather outside.

The modern design flows into the rooms, which are likewise very spacious and finished in calming tones. The rooms are furnished and have a layout you'd expect in a hotel at a higher price point. An L-shaped sofa sleeper could seat 4-5 guests comfortably while enjoying the 42" flatscreen television, which swivels for viewing from the living area or the bed, and a standard mini fridge is another nicety. As a tech-savy person I appreciated that they've built-in a panel beneath the tv with every type of port imaginable for hooking up an iPod, Playstation, or video camera. We also enjoyed the full size shower, which is a huge plus in lieu of a bathtub. Again, they didn't skimp on the finishes as they use granite and faux limestone through the bathroom and kitchenette area. Our king size pillow bed made for a wonderful sleep, and despite some partying going on throughout the hotel since it was New Years Eve, our room was very quite.

Overall I think this is the best value for a hotel in Columbus today. It's apparent that Hyatt has thought out the Hyatt Place brand's design well, and it's very appealing to adult or business travelers who appreciate style and frills at an affordable price. We can't wait for another stay.

“Very clean, pleasant staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

Very comfortable rooms in this relatively new hotel. Staff is always friendly. Breakfast is a bit sparse, but adequate to just get a start on the day. Biggest problem is that there is nothing nearby except the Buckeye Grill, where the food is average at best. Beware in late summer, though, as the OSU football team uses this hotel for the athletes. A bit loud in the evening.
