“Great Location for Shopping and Restaurants”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

We live about a 5 hour drive from my parents, and Columbus is a good meeting spot for a weekend visit. We booked two rooms - one for my parents and one for my family of 3. We love the look of this hotel, and we found the rooms to be comfortable and spacious. My son and father enjoyed the pool. I ran on a treadmill in the fitness room, and though the equipment was fine, the temperature in the gym was way too hot!
The location of this hotel is perfect for those who like to shop and/or eat. Polaris Mall is beside the Cambria Suites. Several of the usual chain restaurants are located in and around the mall, but there are also great locally owned eateries in the area.
Breakfast, though not free, was about the quality of a free, continental breakfast. If you stay here, go out for breakfast!

Room Tip: Ask about the view when you check in. My room faced a pond, but my parents' room looked out on...

“Don't count on the advertised shuttle service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

I recently stayed at the Cambria Suites Polaris on Lyra Drive. Prior to my stay I had enquired about their shuttle service. I normally rent a car when out of town. However, this was a quick trip and I would not be staying long. I was told that they would pick me up at the airport and they had shuttle service available in the immediate area, so I chose not to rent a car.
I found out that they did not have anybody available and working that day to pick me up on Saturday when I arrived. I had to rent a cab to the hotel from the airport, which cost me $45.00 and when I wanted to go out and get something to eat at a local restaurant on Sunday, I was told that they did not have anybody to take me. I had to rent another cab to take me and pick me up, another $25.00. (In fairness to them, someone did take me on Saturday afternoon to a place I could eat.) The facility was nice and new. The staff was very courteous. However, I could have rented a car and come out a lot cheaper. Either you have shuttle service or you don't. If you are planning on staying here, make sure that you have transportation.

“Suite suited us.”

We stayed at the Cambria Suites in Columbus to visit Zoo (8 miles away and Center for Science and Industry. With a large family having space can really help on vacation. This suite has 2 queen beds with a side room containing second tv and couch and desk. The room was clean and spacious. The kids loved the layout and we could see into the living room through the pass through shelving dividing them. The bathroom turned out to be ADA accessible with hadn held shower head, nice for use with small kids too. Please note that the tiles used in this hotel both in bathroom and by the indoor pool side are slippery. I fell in the bathroom and our almsot 4 year old son fell around pool area. So please be careful, we were fine in the end and did not alert hotel staff. The indoor pool had plenty of towels, was well lit and the kids loved the pool. The pool was large enough for 6 kids and 7 teenagers also at the pool when we were to play in. The room echos loudly like many pool areas indoors.
The staff was attentive and friendly. The lobby and breakfast area was nice/large and breakfast was like a coffeehouse counter set up. The hotel night cost us $120, which was the AAA rate including taxes/fees.
The hotel is located in a commercial area beside interstate at the back end of the street. No scenic views are available from windows really due to location.

Room Tip: Corner suites are roomy. You have to walk past the breakfast tables area on lobby floor to get to p...

“Fantastic Getaway!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

Loved this hotel! My husband and I stayed here for one night in November. It's more affordable than the Hilton, and I actually liked it better! The hotel is still within walking distance of the mall - it took us about 10 minutes to get to The Cheesecake Factory - and there are sidewalks and a crosswalk across Gemini. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We loved the pool and hot tub, and also liked that the room had two TVs. The small breakfast buffet was surprisingly well-stocked with lots of choices. Did have a little trouble sleeping - the linens on the bed are fantastic, and it was comfy when I first climbed in, but I think the mattress was a little too firm. All in all, a great experience, and we will return!

“Love this Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

Took my family to this hotel for a weekend away. The rooms are nice size. I agree with others housekeeping a little slow, but the front desk staff was VERY friendly and accommodating. Pool very nice. Close to all the restaurants and shopping.
