When we arrived at the Clarion Hotel & Suites, the front lobby seemed clean and presentable. However, I did notice a musty cigarette type of smell. I checked in and continued to my assigned room. The hallways were very messy & dirty with papers and other miscellaneous things on the floor. We passed the swimming pool which was closed- and was the MAIN reason for our stay at the hotel. We had our two girls and infant son with us, and decided at that time we needed to switch to another hotel that had a swimming pool that was in order. (It was our oldest child's birthday). My husband went back to the front desk to inform them that the main reason for our stay was for the swimming pool and asked if we could get a refund and switch hotels. The guy (Marvin, I believe) said, "No problem." Two weeks later, we STILL have not received a refund, and Marvin claims that we stayed in that room that night!! I am apalled- and I even faxed a receipt to him showing our purchase of another hotel that very night.
I HIGHLY recommend that you look elsewhere for a hotel. The Crowne Plaza is just down the street- and is MUCH MUCH nicer. The staff is super friendly, and we paid the SAME price for a BETTER hotel.

Checked in. Long line for check in. Went to our room and wasn't told to park any closer, even though there was another entrance with elevator that was closer. Room was extremely dirty. Had to get our cards reprogrammed as they didn't want to work in the door. Stains on sheets. Cracked sink in the bathroom.

Upon leaving, we noticed that car window remains were in the parking lot in two different places. Asked the clerk about it and he said it was happening all over Columbus. They didn't even both cleaning up the broken glass. Then was approached by folks asking for money. They looked drugged out.

That evening the elvator broke, so we had to walk three flights of stairs. We are NEVER going to be staying there again.

We first got to our room and it was extremely dirty and filthy!!!!! There were numerous amount of stains on the couch, chair, and floor. The mattress and box spring were disgustingly dirty, brown, and OLD!!! The mattress was cut and half on the side and you could see all the way through it. I complained and was given a different room and the second room was horrible as well! The mattress was also old and disgusting but this time there were little brown spots on it too. The fitted sheet on the bed was on backwards and didn't fit that bed. It was like sheets for a full size bed on a queen size bed, so half of the dirty mattress was exposed. Also, this room had stains on the couch and floor as well. I complained again and was given a third room to try out on the "remodeled' floor. The mattress and box spring was newer and it was a Serta, so that was a plus. The carpet had large spots on it and the room was still old looking and out of date. The wall paper was coming off, there were holes in the wall, and it was just a mess.

We should have known when we asked the front desk for a recommendation for a restaurant and the answer was "I don' know". The entire hotel was ice cold,the pool was cold and the beds were very uncomfortable.
