“Robbed at Red Roof - Front desk made it worst”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 September 2010

First off 5 minutes after we got to our room another couple unlocked our door as they were just checked into our room and issued keys - that I can forgive what I cannot forgive is this: I went out in the morning to walk our dog (around 9ish) and found that my car window was broken and my entire car was pulled apart when I went to the front desk for help in calling the police they told me it was not their job and that the police would not come. It took me yelling at Dan the guy working the desk (same guy who checked us in the night before) for him to even look up the number; he didn't even complete that task and walked away from me numerous times finally bringing this women named Barbara to the desk to call the police for me. No one ever asked me if I was okay or if they could help or that they were sorry for what happened. Before Dan left he told me that when he did his parking lot rounds at 6am my car was fine but at 6:45 my car window was smashed and my stuff was everywhere. The general manager Ketan that was to be in at 11:30am never showed up, I called his cell at 12:30 and believe that this was the first time he heard about the break in THE STAFF NEVER CALLED HIM!!! Ketan said he was an hour away however, I didn’t hear from him again until almost 3pm. He also said that the area has had a large number of car break ins and they were trying to figure out what to do about it. The hotel did not tell us this at check in or post signs to make sure that we were aware of the situation. The help that they gave us was refunding our $55 for the one night we stayed at the hotel ... my window cost $215 to get fixed and I lost between 3 and 5 thousand dollars worth of stuff!! DO NOT STAY AT THIS RED ROOF

“Great hotel for the price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2010

I stayed at the hotel for one night. Being someone who usually goes for the cheapest hotels when traveling on personal time, which is quite often, I've seen my share of good and bad low priced hotels. Compared to most, this hotel was very clean, the room was free of any weird smells and there were not any loud noises that disturbed my sleep. Also, the staff was very friendly.

As a heads up, they only offer two sizes of rooms, a king bed room or double twin beds. And you must request a room with a refrigerator and microwave if you want that, because not all rooms have those items. We requested it, and were given a room that had the items.

As for the room, my sister and I stayed in a king-size room. The bed spread and sheets were soft and white, the bathroom was clean (but oddly missing a trash can), and they even provided two types of pillows (soft and hard) on the beds. It also came with a blow dryer, a nice sized TV and a nice comfy chair in addition to desk and chair, and an iron and ironing board.

Moreover, they were very gracious and allowed us to check out an hour after the required time with no extra fees.

The only downside was the continental breakfast, which really only consisted of pastries/bread and a juice machine that had apple juice but no orange juice and no fresh fruit. Having a wheat allergy, I was glad I had brought my own gluten-free bread. The good news is there are plenty of places to grab a good breakfast near the hotel.

Also, the fitness center is quite small.

If I return to the Worthington/Columbus, Ohio area any time soon, I will most definitely stay here again.

“Great stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2010

I had to stay in Columbus unexpectedly and needed somewhere clean and convenient to the Ohio State Fairgrounds, but didn't want to spend a lot of money.
What a great find this was. Very unlike what I have seen in a "normal" Red Roof, my door didn't open upbto the outside and my room looked very updated and clean. Plus I had a free light breakfast the next day. All for about $50. I'll definitely be back
