This hotel is out of business, effectively. The owners went bankrupt, and the building will be totally gutted and rebuilt (I hear as a Westin). My stay was as a part of a conference. The room was fine, actually, though the place was lacking in maintenance- for obvious reasons. The location is good, right downtown, very close to Browns Stadium and RocknRoll Museum. The staff was trying very hard - under difficult circumstances. They deserve applause for holding the place glued together until they lose their jobs (something like 13 November 2011).

The high point was that the staff were surprisingly positive and helpful. The other end of my observations were that the facility would certainly benefit from renovation. Dingy describes much of what I saw including my 13th floor room and hallway. But, it had a great view over the lake! No mini bar and a dingy nonslip treatment on the bat tub. Loose handrail. Old TV

The conference meal functions were surprisingly good, better than many that I have experienced. Elevators were slow.

THe lobby bar was small and marginally stocked. Service there two of the three days was excellent and the third day was mediocre. They even closed without announcing a last call!

We had a lake view which was very nice. The room was so stuffy, I turned on the air and it sounded like a steamship. I know this hotel is shutting down for a long time, it's a shame they charged full price for a stay now before the renovation. The hotel is pretty dirty, carpeting terrible and the ventilation was just horrendous. I was glad it wasn't hot out. When I complained about the AC and all the noise it made, the staff told me the AC was off in the whole hotel. That doesn't do you much good when you can't open a window. We packed up and went home at 3:30 AM because the room was so uncomfortable. I asked to talk to a manager and got a voice mail. Of course my call was never returned. We will stay at the Doubletree next time.

Hotel is within walking distance of all the above, or go the other direction to get to many great restaurants in the arcade walking area.
