“Beautiful setting, very nice place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

The rooms look down on to the Arcade, which is a small shopping area. Most of the shops aren't open on the weekends, but the hotel is in downtown Cleveland so there is always something to do. The Arcade setting is gorgeous and worth seeing. The staff was always friendly and very accommodating. The room was large and the one we had this time around was updated as opposed to our last stay.
It's listed as a 4 star hotel but with the essential amenities lacking, I'm not sure how they achieved that rating. There is no coffeemaker, microwave or small refrigerator in the rooms. The last 2 are hit and miss with hotels, but a coffeemaker is usually standard. WiFi is NOT free, and in this day and age, refusing this service is ridiculous.
All in all, it's a very nice place and is in a great location. Across the street is East 4th St., which has outstanding restaurants like Lola and Greenhouse Tavern, so be sure to check them out!

central hotel, comfortable, large rooms, not many hotel services

Room Tip: try to get a room overlooking the arcade.

“Nicely Appointed Central Hotel with Nice-Looking Indoor Arcade”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

The Hyatt Regency overall is a nicely-appointed hotel in a very central location. It's focused on a nice-looking indoor arcade which means the views out the external windows are of parking garages and alleyways. (Didn't bother me.)

The location is in the center of downtown Cleveland, which is very quiet at night but has many homeless people.

The room was nice but there was one "creek" in the floor (it's an old building but has been renovated). Bathroom was nice and large. The room itself was very large.

Internet and parking (valet, $21) are pricey. I parked a 15 minute walk away at the South Marginal Road Municipal lot for $3. The public library across the street probably has Internet access as does the nearby Tower City shopping mall.

I would gladly stay here again.

“Decent place but not great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

Stayed at this hotel for 6 nights in January 12th. Picked this hotel as my office was very close. Hotel does not have complementary breakfast or free wifi. Though as a corporate guest I had those facilities. Dine in room service is not good. Not much of an option for dine in room service. Never tried their other restaurant. Front desk and other staff were courteous and helpful.

Hotel itself is located in downtown Cleveland. The building that hosts the hotel is very historic and one of the tourist attractions of Cleveland. But the mall in the hotel building is dead. No activity. If you are in the hotel during the lunch time try the Greek Express. They are good. But they are not open for dinner. I was disappointed with Cleveland Downtown though. The place shuts down by 5PM :(

“What a gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

Our stay at the Hyatt at the Arcade was a definite surprise. We booked a two night stay for about $300. I found this reasonable as the only other hotel in the area worth staying at (Mariott) was over $200 for just one night. Valet parking is $22 per night, but well worth it. Your car is secured in a valet-only garage and can be retrieved at any time. Check out is noon, which is nice since most hotels seem to earlier now.

The hotel itself is beautiful and clean and we found the staff at the front desk, restaurant, and lounge to be friendly and helpful. This has easily become our go-to hotel for future visits to Cleveland. Be sure to have breakfast at the hotel restaurant - exquisite!

Room Tip: If you're worried about noisy events in the arcade (i.e. weddings), ask for a room in the tower...
