We had a two-night stay here -- two adults, two kids -- for a brief trip to Cleveland.

Pros:
-Location is right downtown, close to shopping, museums, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and short drive (15 minutes) to Cleveland Clinic.

-Rooms are big: separate bedroom, dining area, galley kitchen, living room area and foyer

-Nice big indoor pool and hot tub and a rooftop deck

-Free drink and snacks during manager's reception

-Free breakfast buffet: toast, eggs, cereal, pancakes, oatmeal and a lot more, though it was not particularly tasty

Cons:
-Room furniture is old an outdated

-It's a bit dirty

-Nice staff but not enough around for assistance when you need it

-Pullout is very uncomfortable

Side note: I lost a camera at the hotel -- totally my fault -- but I called at least 10 times to ask if it had been found or for someone to check the area where I left it. No one returned a single call.

Would we go back? Probably not. There must be better in Cleveland. If you really need the extra space, and can take advantage of the free drinks and breakfast, maybe it's for you on a purely functional level. If you need nice amenities and service, try somewhere else.

Our stay at Embassy Suites in May 2012 was great. Everyone on the staff was super friendly and helpful. The Suite was huge. Furnishings were a big dowdy but everything was very clean and the beds and bed linens were excellent. We did not use the Valet parking but parked in the garage ourselves and paid $10 instead of $20 for the valet parking. We did use the free Shuttle and that was very pleasant. The included breakfast was great. Someone mentioned standing in line for the $20 Breakfast and I have no idea what he was talking about. The breakfast was totally free and included everything you could think of except tea bags which was odd. Someone would make you an omelet with the ingredients you selected or he would cook eggs any other way you wanted. They were regularly restocking items as they got low. It was one of the best included breakfasts I've had. The Manager's reception in the evening with a free glass of wine or soft drink and snacks was an added plus. We dd not even look at the pool so I can't comment on that.
The hotel location was quite convenient. All in all, it was a very pleasant experience.

My arrival experience here was excellent; parking & check-in were a breeze.

The rooms were large (suites, naturally), but I don’t typically use the “living room” anyhow. My Internet connection was reliable; and the AC was quiet. The bed linens seemed a bit worn and tired; and the lighting was terribly bright after warming up, almost hurting my eyes when I looked at it directly.

Breakfast was adequate – and the price was right. (It’s a free breakfast…)

Otherwise, my stay was unremarkable. I’d recommend this hotel if your primary concern is location, or if you value a free, decent breakfast, or a larger room.
