Spent 2 nights in the Scheider Suite at the Clifford House. Spacious third floor room. 31 steps up! Room is quite comfortable and clean, spacious , casual and unique. Despite brutal heat in Cleveland we found the room still quite comfortable with the house air conditioning on and an added boost from a window mounted unit we could personally control.
The private bath is in the eave of the attic - does not allow for a full shower, but you can you can share the lovely upgraded communal bathroom 1 floor down.
Retro working coffee pot in the room, though we didn't have a great deal of luck with the coffee. No cream/milk in fridge, but Jim was most accommodating - but 31 steps down. Love Sherlock the hounddog, but he needs to learn some manners on the steps going up and down. And he will - he's just a new addition and still in B & B basic training.
Jim puts on a mighty fine spread for breakfast in his more formal dining room. You won't go away hungry. Good food presentation and quality selection.
Great location, close enough to downtown without being downtown, and in the centre of a small reborn historic district. Walk to nearby West Side market, not to be missed - nor is the Great Lakes Beer pub if you're a fan of the hop.
Parking in the neighborhood can be tight. We had the luxury of the driveway, but depending on the number of guests, you may or may not be able to use the driveway.
Overall above average and priced accordingly.
