The other reviewer couldn't possibly be referring to "Bella", the resident dog at Marigold ! Bella is part of the family...full of love and welcoming energy to all of the guests. She does not have the run of the house, but is ever at her owner's side, and is one of the sweetest, as well as sweet-smelling, dogs I've ever met!
As for the comments about the website, the home is identical to the photos! The only thing I might think is that the particular guests were there other than the season pictured.
Bev, the innkeeper, is as warm and welcoming as the website suggests, and a fabulous cook!
The location is retreat-like, which is exactly what we were looking for, and we have every intention of returning.

I agree this does not look like the website. It is beyond tired --dirty and occupied by a very large and stinky dog. The rooms were dingy, only 1 towel was initially provided for 2 people. You can find better not far from Chesterland. This place needs a complete overhaul.

This B&B looked so cute in the pictures, but is actually quite run down. The grounds look like they have not been maintained in several years, and the whole place looks dingy. Innkeeper was nice but the whole experience was disappointing.

“No response to email inquiry”

We did not stay at Marigold because we received no response to our email inquiry. When will businesses learn that if they offer a website and email address, they need to treat those queries the same way as they would phone calls? It's simply business lost!
