The rooms were clean and the staff very helpful and nice. My room was a king study and it was nice and good thing it had a fridge since I needed to keep my "real" coffee creamer in there. They have the worst coffee I've had in ages and they only offer powdered creamer unless it's breakfast hours. They also don't offer any of the good flavored creamers that make you feel better when you're traveling away from home. When I check in from the airport, a good cup of coffee goes a long way to making my evening more enjoyable. I went and purchased instant decaf coffee and creamer theirs so bad. The rest of the breakfast was ok, but they could have more a couple more healthful choices, that would have been nice. Yes, I'd stay there again, but I'll stop at the grocery store first for sure.

This was an excellent stay for us. Easy getting off and on the Interstate. Rooms were clean and well kept. Great pool area and free full breakfast. Excellent Restaurant close to hotel with full course buffet at unbelievable price. Recommend this hotel with a rating of 10.

This hotel was very clean. The room we were initially assigned to on the first floor smelled a little musty, but the room on the second floor was perfect. We didn't use the indoor pool but it looked very inviting. I liked the location of the hotel as it was not in Dayton making the area less congested and very quiet. I would definitely stay here again if I was passing through Ohio.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Brookville on day 6 of an 8 day driving vacation that included family gatherings and college tours. Our entire trip consisted of stays in either HIE or Country Inn properties, with the exception of one night at a Homewood Suites in downtown Chicago.

We did not have a reservation for this part of the trip. We stopped at this hotel because we'd stayed at an HIE in Pittsburgh that we liked, so we thought we'd give the chain another try.

We asked for a suite with 2 doubles and a pull out couch—unlike the Pittsburgh property, this hotel offered studio suites—no privacy wall between the beds and the couch. Personally, I think HIE would be a lot more popular with families if they found a way to create some privacy barrier in these rooms—even a curtain would be an improvement. I'm traveling with teens who want to stay up later then I do, and when I traveled with toddlers, I wanted to stay up up later without keeping them awake. Impossible when we're all sharing one big room.

Anyway, the suite with a bedroom door seems to be more reliably available in Country Inns and Homewood Suites at this price point. But we'd been driving for 10 hours, rejected a CI that only had a studio with one king and a fold out bed that was a single rather than a double. So by 9 PM, none of us planned to stay up late, so the studio suite worked ok.

The room had moderately comfortable beds, and the carpeting and upholstery were free from stains. The bathroom was clean.

Breakfast had a lot of choices—boiled or scrambled eggs, breads, cereal, yogurt, fruit, and super sugary cinnamon buns. All was fine.

Overall, I'd say this hotel is typical of the chain. It's not an area I visit regularly, but I would stay here again if I was in town.
