I recently decided to stay at this hotel based on price and location. I have never stayed at an Extended Stay America before, and won't likely again.
The location is very nice, located right off of 480 which gives you access to most of the major routes in the Cleveland area. You can be downtown in about 15 minutes. You can be at the airport in under 10 minutes. It is located near some shopping centers and restaurants like Panera Bread, Cracker Barrel, and a few others are very close.
The staff was also very pleasant, efficient with the check-in process and overall very friendly. Unlike other hotels, ESA charges your entire stay on the first day of check-in but while they 'hold' your credit card for incidentals, they don't actually authorize any amount. This is nice to know for debit card users.
While the area this hotel is located in seemed very safe, I did not feel entirely safe while INSIDE the hotel. The hotel website specifically mentions that there are some periods of time where the hotel is not staffed. There were loud guests, and people loitering outside the building at 2:00am. With no one to address the complaint, there's hardly an easy way to resolve those types of issues.
The overall facility was old, and needed updated. The hotel room keys are from the 1980's. The public areas were dingy, dirty, and just not well taken care of. The internet access (which is an added five dollar charge) is horribly slow, roughly 200kbps maximum. The doors slam shut loudly.
The hotel room itself was very clean --- although the dingy carpet and stained washcloths lets the cleaning staff down.
There are just too many 'cons' to make this place worthy of a repeat visit.

"I recently received a copy of your review of the Extended Stay America Cleveland - Brooklyn. Our company prides itself on excellent guest service, so it was gratifying to read your feedback about our staff. I would like to give you my most heartfelt apology regarding the part of your stay that was not satisfactory.
It is my pleasure to provide an explanation regarding the issue you described. Every part of our hotel, from the in-room features, to the design of the guest room hallways is an integral part in creating a ""home away from home"" experience for our guests. Since we recognize that a quiet, relaxing environment is critical to this goal, we have several systems to ensure that noise from within or outside the hotel doesn't interfere with your stay. Although rare, there are instances where a guest may hear noises from the surrounding area. Whenever we are informed of such disturbances, our standard procedure is to promptly identify the source of that disturbance and resolve it. I take full responsibility that we were unable to resolve this situation to your satisfaction during your stay.
It's not common that we get the sort of feedback you provided, and although it is discouraging to read, it will help us make our hotel even better in the future. Let me apologize again that your stay was not completely satisfying, and assure you that we will continue to listen to our guests in forums like this one or directly (please visit our website and click the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page). I hope we have addressed your concern satisfactorily, and that you would give us the pleasure of having you as a guest again at this hotel or any other Extended Stay Hotels(sm) brand location in the future."
