The Residence Inn in Beavercreek has become part of our families "Black Friday Tradition". We have stayed at this hotel for several years on Thanksgiving night to prepare ourselves for the crazy night / day ahead! We have always enjoyed our stay. That being said, we did have a couple of issues with our stay this year. When we arrived, our hotel couch smelled VERY strongly of cat urine. We notified the front desk and they contacted the head of the cleaning department. She came up to the room and insisted that "she has the best nose around" and she couldn't smell it at all. She then went on to tell us she has 2 large cats of her own... She did offer to move us to a different room, but we declined as we were not planning to spend a lot of time sitting on the couch any way. The other issue was that at breakfast we noticed that there were several friends and family members of the staff coming in to eat (that were not staying in the hotel.) My issue with that is the more they eat, the higher my cost will be next year when I go to stay...
I don't think the odor will be a continuing issue with this hotel as they are beginning a complete remodel of the rooms next week. We were told that they also plan to keep all pets on one floor this time.
