My husband and I spent a night at the lodge last month. Yungaburra is a charming town on the Atherton Tablelands. The lodge is central and within walking distance to restaurants, the pub and a grocery store. It is motel style accommodation and the rooms are small with a similarly small ensuite. There are tea and coffee making facilities in a cupboard in the ensuite. If you are looking for luxury, don't stay here, but if spotlessly clean, basic accommodation is what you're after at a low price, Kookaburra Lodge is a good choice.

This is a great place to stay - the owner was very personable and helpful - providing unlimited information on what to do in the area. Home cooked breakfast was delivered to our door each morning on our veranda that overlooked a beautiful landscaped yard. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We would definately recommend this place. Great value.

After what could only be described as an absolutely painful stay at a so called resort in Kuranda, we passed through Yungaburra- and found this little Gem...

Initially stopping at the local Info center, we received some of the most friendly help from one of the loyal local's, who suggested this place- and even offered to find out if a room was available for us... That's awesome service.

The room was clean, nicely detailed, queen size bed, has split system a/c, flat screen tv and even free WiFi
Breakfast was served on the deck outside the room- service was top notch too.

If I had to fault the place at all, I guess it would be room size is a spot on the small side...

That said, for an overnighter and for the money- what more could you really want?
For a "motor inn" type of place - this is about as good as it gets...

Was a damn sight cheaper than the rubbish tip where we stayed in Kuranda, and is ten fold the stay.

Though we only stayed one night, we would definitely go back...

Very Impressed

Basic, but spotlessly clean room in a sweet hotel. Gorgeous, well-cared for garden and pool area. All rooms have a small table and chairs outside facing the gardens. Proper peace and quiet apart from the Kookaburra!
