Our stay at the kalua holiday apartments consisted of a one night stop-over. We found the 2bdrm apartment to be clean though dated and very basic. The temporary managers who we delt with were friendly and welcoming. A day after leaving the complex we realised we had left somehing of ours in the apartment. We returned the next day (as we were still in the area), to find the regular owner/managers had returned. On asking if the cleaners had recovered anything from the apartment I was told they "wouldn't have a clue", and I was given a key to go and look myself. It was obvious the room had been cleaned and cleared of any foriegn items so I returned to the office and once again described what was left behind and their reply in a very rude fashion was "well we weren't here on that night so we cant help you".
For someone who is looking for accomodation in this area I would recommend checking all other options before the Kalua. The cost to stay is in no way cheap and I have stayed in much better places(with much better service) for less.

well where do I begin. The mangey dog that stunk hanging out in the pool area and entrance, the pubic hair in the bathrooms or the miserable unfriendly complex manager. If I didnt have kids I would have packed the car up again and found another place to stay. The only thing this place has got going for it is that its cheap and there is good surf across the road.
On top of this upon returning home was sent a email concerning the state of the place when we left, (In fact we stripped the linen, mopped the floors daily with the disinfectant we purchased, and vacuumed as we have young children) the cheek of a $170 bill for extra cleaning was the icing on the cake I advise you not to stay here.

If sunshine coast is fully boooked apart from Kalua drive to Brisbane for the night .

Stayed at Kalua last November. Found the managers helpful and friendly. Room was confortable. The grounds and pool area were appealing and great location close to the beach and restaurants. Would recommend Kalua as a holiday accommodation for families.

We couldnt wait to leave this place. The owner/manager was the MOST miserable person I have ever met and we are always happy and polite.

He went away 2 days after we checked in and left it in the care of a young guy who took advantage of this and invited his mates around the rest of the time we were there for a permanent drunk fest at all hours.

We went to sleep to the sounds of drunken yobbos and woke to the sound of drunken yobbos.....great!

Also given the wrong room (we were after a 1 brm and they gave us a 2 brm so we paid more than what we booked) as I have terrible knees and didnt want to be going up and downstairs BUT had to and they didnt care that I was struggling to get up to my bed. Rooms couldve been cleaner

Only perk was the McDonalds just up the road where we went for peace and quiet. Oh and finally checking out!!!!!!!!!
