I chose the Blue Summit for our anniversary last year. After much deliberation as there are so many couple retreats in this area. The room itself was very nice. We loved the king bed, gas fire and spa with a view. The managers bought a breakfast to us quietly each morning which had more than enough food. The balcony was private and allowed a nice view of the range to the west. All in all, we were very pleased. The price was reasonable compared to other retreats and the rooms were spotless. Maybe for me though it was a little TOO quiet! For those wanting absolute peace and quiet - it is perfect.

We spent our first three Australian nights in Maleny at the Blue Summit Cottages and could not be happier about our decision. Bruce and Lyn were hospitable, courteous, and just perfect hosts. Sometimes when we go to B and B style inns, we feel a bit smothered. We have had a handful of unfortunate experiences that seemed exactly the opposite- cold and insincere. But Bruce and Lyn were just perfect- sweet and wonderful to be around, but behind-the scenes and very respectful of the privacy of their guests.

We enjoyed a terrific local cheeseplate and bottle of wine at check in. The airlines lost my bag and Bruce and Lyn were accommodating and helpful in the aftermath of that, offering to provide things that I may be missing. The cottage itself was just stunning- simple and gorgeous, with a beautiful view that we did not tire of during our stay. The deep jacuzzi tub was great, the bathroom was sparking clean, the bed was comfy, the outside deck was our favorite!

Maleney itself was fun to explore and we had great food at the local restaurants, wineries, etc. We even bought groceries a few times and grilled on the patio because the view was just that awesome.

We stayed for 2 nights in the King Parrot cottage on a romance package. The quality of the furniture and fittings within the cottage was exceptional. The local produce in the BBQ and breakfast hampers was fresh and delicious. And the extra touches of wine and chocolates, and fresh flowers were of a much higher standard than other places we have stayed. We loved the peace and quiet, and sitting out on the deck listening to the birds and neighbouring horses contently going about their business. The sunsets and star gazing were excellent too. All and all a thoroughly enjoyable stay and we look forward to returning for a 3 night stay next time.

Nestled in the breathtaking Sunshine Coast Hinterland, the Blue Summit Cottages are immaculate and beautifully laid out. Hosts Bruce and Lyn, who couldn't be nicer, have designed and maintained the cottages and grounds with wonderful care and attention to detail. Heaters and fluffy linens kept us cozy on chilly mountain nights, and we awoke each day to peace, quiet, and idyllic valley views. The welcome chocolates, DVD library, and take-home gift of local handmade soap were lovely extras. We highly recommend this couples' getaway and look forward to our next visit!
