My partner and I stayed here for 5 nights in early November. The self contained cabins were great (only critisism I would have is that matresses was a bit old and perhaps needs replacing?). The hosts were the best we have met in our travels and looked after us really well. Breaky was great and local advice invaluable. A nature lovers paradise and a really great place to relax and expiernce the tropics.

My partner and I spent two perfect nights here. The private cabin with the balcony over the dam and the birds in the background was delightful. We saw lots of unusual birds and it was a great place to explore Far North Queensland from.

We stayed here during our second week in Australia. The location was great for daytrips and we especially enjoyed our river trip for birders that was recommended by our hosts and guided by "Sauce." The double-eyed fig parrot made an appearance for us and although the buff-breasted paradise kingfisher eluded us several times, we did find it nearby. The scenery was quite pleasant and the hosts very helpful.

All three chalets have wonderful views over the forest, and, if it has rained, the lake. Unfortunately for us there had been almost no rain for more than 6 months so everything was parched. Even so the ambiance was great and the bird llfe amazing. We also regale our friends with the story of the tiny green tree frog which was swimming happily around the toilet. It seemed a shame to catch it and return it to the wild!

Daphne and Peter are wonderful hosts and tyhis is an ideal base to explore the surrounding rain-forest area.
