“Great Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We just spent 10 nights at the Daintree Escape and had a wonderful time. The rooms are all clean and the owners very accommodating and helpful. It's a gorgeous spot and the pool delightful to swim in. The people in the village are also really lovely and helpful. There are mozzies and small geckos but it is the far north so you would expect this anywhere. Lovely little forest creatures abound. Tea house has nice meals and service. Eco Lodge has very small serves with the meals and a bit hit and miss. Mossman pizza cafe does a great pizza. Lots of great natural swimming holes try Silky Oaks where you can swim, in gorgeous surrounds. The biodynamic icecream on Cape Trib is gorgeous and so are the tropical serves in the village at Big Barra. We will definitely go back and stay there.

Room Tip: Contact the owners to discuss you're needs and they will advise on whether you need 1 or 2 cabin...

“A true gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2011

We very much loved our stay at the Daintree escape. The cabins were very cute and comfortable. Grant provided great service and his breakfast is just great. Such luxury to have a full breakfast with a.o. freshly cut fruit brought onto your veranda! Garden kitchen could potentially be a bit cleaner, but it does provide a great BBQ place by the pool. All in all highly recommendable.

“Paid-in-full but lost our money and holiday”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 April 2011

We booked 2 months ahead, paid the totall price as requested, this was meant to be our totally relaxing family holiday. Was then told 2 weeks before our booking that our money was lost with 'old management'. We were told the holiday we booked and money we paid cant be honoured and we were welcome to book and pay again with the 'new managment'. Be weary, Daintree Escape is still running under the original website and has the same owner, has the management actually changed?

“relaxing rainforest retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2011

delightful rainforest retreat, idylic surroundings, very relaxed peaceful atmosphere, grant and kate the hosts were very welcoming and bent over backwards to make our stay enjoyable, they were very helpful letting us know where all the local attractions were and which places provided the best deals and service, we were met by kate and their delightful dog sparrow, who was very friendly and made to feel at home straight away. As we arrived at the same time as cyclone yasi, we were well informed as to what was happening and put at ease by their care during what could have been a very scary situation, and they assured our safety and comfort was paramount. very clean, comfortable rooms. Will be happy to return.

“Very misleading website”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2011

I do not usually waste my time writting bad reviews but this place was very terrible. We were 5 adults and 2 kids travelling together so we book 2 cabins for 2 nights. We ended up leaving the place after 10 mins. There is no kitchenette in the cabins, you have to cook outside under the owner's house and it is very dirty with massive spiders everywhere. The "pool" is very tiny and not well maintain. The property look like it hasen't been taking care off in a while and there is rubbish everywhere. I was shown around by the owner barefoot and shirtless after waiting 15 mins at the reception surounded by dirty bed sheets and towels on the floor. They charged us full price event if we didn't stay, so we lost $780.00. Do not trust the website, do not make the same mistake!

We understand that you are unhappy about being charged for your booking as per our advertised cancellation policy. However, we are a small specialty accommodation and other bookings were refused on your behalf.
We are always happy to receive constructive criticism. Clearly malicious reviews however are another matter. Independent witnesses were on site at the time of your arrival. We are seeking legal advice.
