A great base to get into the mood for relaxing and enjoying the Mornington Peninsula. The decor theme is tropical - palms, cane, louvres, pineapples, evoking colonial luxury from the Americas, plus the occasional Indian elephant and Lorraine's paintings of the Peninsula. The 3 rooms are named Georgia, Bahamas and New Havana. The shared dining/lounge room opens to a covered deck, big barbecue /outdoor kitchen, and a spa. The breakfast is delicious, quality local produce and a surprisingly extensive and interesting menu. ( I think the tomato relish recipe is made with tomato, onion (a little), yellow mustard seeds, sugar, vinegar??) Almost any variety of tea, coffee, hot chocolate with marshmallows are in the dining room, along with fruit and quality biscuits. All the details are just right, and Charles and Lorraine are happy to oblige any request. It's only a 2 minute walk to the bay, or 10 minutes to Rye shops. And 10 minutes drive up to the fabulous Peninsula Hot Springs. What more could you want? We liked it so much last year we just came back again.
