“Excellent Spa Night”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Where do I start?
On arrival we were met by a charming man, who carried our bags to the reception. Once booked in the gentleman gave us a guided tour of the hotel, and once we reached our room, he made sure we were happy then he went and retrieved our bags.
The room was fantastic (deluxe twin), although was extremely hot, even when we turned our radiator down, it still stayed hot. The beds were very comfortable and the linen was spotlessly clean. The bathroom was huge, with two sinks, double head shower and large bath, with plenty of clean towels.
In the room there is everything you need, iron, ironing board, a hairdryer which wasn't fixed to a wall, shampoo, conditioner etc. There was a good selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate, two bottles of water, and fresh fruit.
The Spa facilities were superb, although the signage for the pool, steam room and sauna could have been better, (steam room and sauna are located in the changing rooms. It wasn't until we were about to leave did we find the relax room.
If you have any skin complaints etc, make sure the girl has read your health form; my girl hadn't and put massage oil on my foot which irritated my eczema. Back message was so relaxing, and the products they used for the facial were fabulous - we even bought some products before we left.
The young girl (Hayley) in the Reflections bar was a dream, very friendly and had a sense of humour. The young man working behind the bar, made our evening very enjoyable, and talked us through several of the spirits they have in stocked, we even sampled some, making the evening hard to remember - but fun.
We ate in the Reflections bar at night, and although we went over our £35 limit was well worth it - the food was superb.
Breakfast was a good selection, the scrambled eggs are heavenly.
All in all very impressed with staff, location and hotel, would definitely go back.

“Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012 via mobile

My wife and I stayed for one night and enjoyed a sleep & spa deal. We were very pleased with the overall experience and certainly enjoyed the Spa facilities over the two days. We stayed in the Dorchester suite.
The staff were very attentive and couldn't do more for us.

“Lovely overnight spa break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

I have just returned from a 1 night spa break with 3 other girlfriends. The hotel is lovely and after we had checked in we were given a small tour around the hotel which I thought was a nice touch. We stayed in the Willow and Sycamore rooms which were both modern and tastefully decorated and right next door to each other. The Spa area was lovely and we spent the afternoon trying out the different pools which were relatively empty which was a bonus! We had pre-dinner drinks in the Champagne bar which included a strawberry daiquiri for me which was really delicious (although quite pricey!) In fact all the drinks were pricey! We had dinner in Reflections which was more informal that the other restaurant which was perfect for our group and we all enjoyed our meals. By sticking to 2 courses we remained within our £35 food allowance but it would've gone over if we had had 3 courses. The staff were very friendly and courteous which for me is just as important as the standard of the food. After a good nights sleep (although a little on the hot side!) we had breakfast in Reflections and received excellent service again. We then went for our mini facials and neck, back and shoulder massages which we all really enjoyed before returning for a quick dip in the hot tub which is outside. We were quite brave as it was a frosty day but felt great when actually in the hot water! After getting dressed in the changing rooms which are of a very high standard we went upstairs to pay the bill. This is the only thing that put a bit of a blight on our stay. While I am in no way blaming the staff, there was an automatic service charge put on the bill. Whilst I am happy to pay a little extra for good service, I do not like to be made to feel obligated and told how much I should tip. It was explained to us that it could be refunded but I personally feel that you should do it because you choose to and not because you are made to feel that you should. It didn't help that we had also been charged £50 for lunch the previous day which we had not taken. But, mistakes do happen and the lunch was refunded straight away. After that little moan, I would definitely stay again but I think the hotel group should rethink their service charge policy!

“Excellent girls weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

This hotel is fantastic, went there on a girls spa weekend and all 8 of us had a fantastic time. The spa is wonderful, well designed with a lot of relaxing areas, the out door hot tub is definately worth a visit. The treatments we had were brilliant.

All the bedrooms are individually designed and have their own names which gives it a nice personal touch, you just sink into the beds and the bathrooms are great with roll top baths and a walk in shower.

Dinner and breakfast were both wonderful, excellent service and great tasting food and superb wine

A great location for a relaxing girls weekend - we are already talking about arranging our next trip there

“White Wedding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

Married here in Dec '10. The whole experience was perfect, although proved somewhat challenging for my arrival! Having said this the staff went beyond the call of duty and even sent out a 4x4 to pick me up after my car and my ushers car got stuck in the snow.

The food was fantastic with a number of guests commenting on the quality, the lamb Wellington melted in your mouth. Me, the wife and the wedding party enjoyed the spa the day after and we even managed to get in the hot tub outside despite the freezing cold weather.

Have some wonderful memories and the hotel was excellent. My wife is still in touch with our wedding organiser there, Jen Irwin, we understand a number of the excellent staff have since left, James & Jo, including Jen, which is a pity but we will certainly never forget the staff that made the day run like clockwork and made sure everyone had a fantastic day!
