When everyone else was hiding at home waiting for the snow this weekend we decided to head for the Norfolk coast. Snow on a beach was just too much of a temptation for my Aussie husband. The Saracen's Head kept us warm and well fed and we woke to a snowy wilderness. This extraordinary building should be on everyone' route through lanes south of Cromer. Tim and his staff were very kind to us and our two furry friends. They were welcome guests in the bar in front of the log burner. Our meal was delicious, the bed huge and comfortable, the plumbing immaculate and we made it back home along the snowy lanes without a scratch.
