We had just one night here. Our room was fairly small with the bathroom squeezed in to one corner. However the bed was a decent size and pretty comfy.
We had food in the pub in the evening. Both of us had homemade pies, and we were very happy with them. We really liked the bar, nice and cosy, plenty of choices for food and drink.
The breakfast we had in the morning wasn't brilliant. Everyone seemed to have come for their breakfast at once and maybe the kitchen was struggling a bit. It took a while for our food to come and it wasn't that hot.
I think overall we preferred the bar to our actual stay in the pub. Not that there was anything really wrong with it. It just didn't stand out like some of the other places in Castleton,
