“Lovely Setting Nice Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

I've stayed at the Priest House several times over the years and each time I have been impressed by the setting, the rooms and the food. Great hotel, nice polite staff and a good chef. The rooms are clean and warm and though the pillows are not exactly Marriots, the beds are comfortable. Enjoyed the stay and always look forward to stopping at this hotel

Room Tip: If you can get in the main hotel rather than the cottages you're on a winner

“Perfect wedding reception venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Having been a guest at more than a few wedding receptions over the last few years I was inspired to write a review for the Priest Hotel because it stood out in my mind as being a truly exceptional venue for a wedding reception. The location is simply beautiful and the whole experience was made memorable by the staff and the beautiful setting and building. Quite simply the best wedding reception venue I have experienced in the region.

“Had a great time at the Priest House”

I felt I had to write this review for the Priest House, because I had written another review for a hotel in the Handpicked Hotels chain and I wanted to convey how the Priest House is totally different.

My husband and I stayed at the Priest House for a special occasion. There was a wedding on the weekend that we stayed, yet we never felt neglected by the staff, in fact they were great. The service was very good at all times, the staff even saw we had a bottle of our own wine in the room and chilled it in an ice bucket for us as a surprise when we returned to our room after dinner.

The restaurant in the hotel was a little quiet the night we stayed, but we really enjoyed the relaxing ambience and attentative service. We were staying on a package which included our evening meal and the food was excellent.

We were very fortunate to be staying in the bridal suite which was quaint and beautiful....this is a very old part of the building so expect smaller rooms and crooked floors (these add to the character!).

We chose to have breakfast in our room and it was very good quality and arrived on time.

I think this hotel offered great value for money and would return.

Room Tip: Reception loan out DVDs to watch in your room for free and there is a good selection. Try a room in...

“An acquired taste”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We were on a company meeting for 2days. I arrived early because me flight was first thing. The welcome was less than friendly -can't get access to the room until 12.30 (I arrived at 9.30) and checking is at 3pm. I'd love to say they were busy but the place was deserted. Front of house was shocking. The good news is the food is worth it.

Room Tip: Checking is completely inflexible which is a shame as this was the first and lasting impression I ha...
