The room was ready when we arrived after the church wedding. We had asked for a quiet room and it was just right. Although we were on the first floor our room opened onto a balcony that led onto a garden. The room was very comfy and spacious. the bathroom was large with a larger than usual shower. A downside here was there was only one small bar of soap for the two of us, one small shampoo and no shower gel.The reception was very good and the food was excelent. The staff through out the hotel were friendly and efficient. The breakfast was freshly cooked and plenty of choice.The special wedding rate was good value for money. One negative is that there are lots of stairs.

Located so close to Donington Park, so a perfect hotel for Superbike racing. Right in the centre of Castle Donington so perfect for petrol heads to soak up the atmosphere on a race weekend. I was a solo traveller and was made to feel very welcome from the time I arrived. Nothing was too much trouble, even organising taxis for me. Room was superb. Very friendly staff all over the hotel. Not sure what planet some of the previous reviewers were on with trivial criticisms. This hotel is splendid in my opinion

This place is so expensive for what it is and I would suggest you look at staying at the Priest House down the road instead.
The rooms are dusty, dirty (i found a soap that had been unwrapped and used already in the shower), boiling hot, small televisions, the door in the bathroom didn't close and didn't even seem to fit the frame. It feels unsafe and dark. There is no iron or water in the room. The furniture looks as though it has been purchased from Homebase and doesn't match. There were stains on the valances on the bed. This is not much better than a Travelodge, but at very expensive prices. It really does need some love and attention and really does have the potential to be nice. Currently the only thing going for this place is the nice and friendly staff.

We stay here regularly as the in laws live nearby... this hotel grows on us with every visit and our stays are made very comfortable.We had the most fabulous breakfast delivered to our room and Jamie in reception was very helpful indeed and incredibly accomodating and professional. The superior rooms have their own outside space which is delightful....we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who values undiluted service and attention - wonderful uplifting experience!!
