“Fine food stunning views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012 via mobile

We visited the Inn half way between a 9 mile walk and what a treat. The view sat outside in -2 was stunning, yes we ate outside much to the surprise of the staff but it was beautiful and someone had taken the last table!

The bar area is small, so arrive early to get a table inside if you want or need one. As we had two dogs with us we chose to sit outside with a Peroni beer.

Lunch was served very promptly and was excellent value, hot, tasty and well earned.

Would certainly visit again on our next visit.

Great value, stunning views and great service.

“Home from home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Just back from a short weekend break with my husband, which we spent walking in the hills.
We booked at short notice and were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. We had read on their website that The Three Shires Inn had been closed for refurbishment and this was the first weekend they had opened. There was no problem at all when we arrived, all the decorating had been finished and we were greeted with a roaring log fire. The owners and staff were extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good, especially the cumberland sausages we had for breakfast - the best we've ever had!
If you get the chance, pay the Three Shires a visit. You won't regret it.

This was at least the sixth visit to this Inn set in beautiful Little langdale. So this must say something about the Inn and the area. Good walking for all types. The inn is very cosy and the owners very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: The front rooms are the best

“Stop looking - you've found it!”

What do you want ......? Grand walks + views? Good beer + food? A shower AND a bath? A roaring log fire when you arrive down from the tops? Well you just found all these things as the Three Shires Inn truly has it all! OK - the hotel can claim no credit for providing such wondrous walks on its doorstep but it deserves a righteous pat on the back for everything else. From the moment the phone was answered to accept our booking to the morning we left we felt nothing less than pampered, important and very welcome. The people here know how to treat folk - trust me! And they know how to feed you too! The breakfasts can fuel a good days walking; throwing in one of the packed lunches and you may not need dinner which would be a shame because the evening Menu is superb! Go try it - you'll be glad you did! :) The dinner, bread and breakfast deal we did was tremendous value. Check for offers.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a Wetherlam view!
