Just returned from our first time stay at the hotel. Booked on a Sunday night special DBB deal. Found the hotel excellent value and very relaxing. Stayed in a room above the pool which was modern and clean and plenty big enough. Nice views over the rear gardens. The evening meal was excellent as was breakfast. The staff could not have been better. All were extremely friendly and helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble. A very interesting hotel with an intriging mix of furniture and decor. The log fire in the bar was great and the views over the lake made for a very relaxing atmosphere. Would definitely recommend if you want a nice relaxing short break.

Just returned from a two night special break from Travel Zoo with 3 friends. We had such a fantastic time, we extended our stay for an extra night. All the staff are helpful & very friendly & the bedrooms are warm, clean & comfortable. The food is without exception 1st class. We have already booked for another stay in April .... can't wait!! We stayed here for two nights on a bargain break booked through Travelzoo. We probably chose the coldest two nights of the year but the hotel was warm and welcoming. Our room was large with a big four poster and good lake view. The food was good and well presented at dinner and buffet breakfast plentiful and appetizing. The hotel has a nice little pool, jacuzzi and mini gym which we used when it was too icy to go out. Having read a previous and very unflattering review I feel I must say those people must have been very unlucky and would have been better to make their complaints known at the time. Our room was perfectly clean and comfortable.

Stayed weekend of the 3-4th February. The quality of the food served in the resuarant on the Friday and Saturday nights was outstanding with good friendly service. We were not banking on eating there on the Saturday night but due to poor weather our hand was forced. The menu was completely different to the previous night and very imaginative and creative. Breakfasts were plentiful and varied. Rooms clean and comfy. We had upgraded to a 4 poster bed but this was somewhat crammed into a small bedroom. Still, a good stay.
