We have been visiting Brook House on and off for the last 12 or so years, and although we sometimes stay in other parts of the Lakes, we regularly return to Brook House. We always get a great welcome, are extremely well fed (Gareth's cooking is our "gold standard" by which we rate all other restaurants) and are well looked after. The second time we visited, way back, I was ill over the weekend and confined to bed for two days, and all the staff were helpful and attentive. This year we visited with our grown up children and their partners- the best holiday we have had for ages, and the comment from them was-" we can see why you keep coming back."

Stayed two nights. Whilst Brook House is efficiently run it lacks atmosphere. The staff were professional, polite, attentive but totally disinterested in the customer which is the opposite to the recently refurbished Woolpack up the road. Sadly the attitude seems to stem from the owners themselves who were recently back from their own holidays, I hope they received better customer service whilst they were away! The nearby Boot Inn was very welcoming too. We loved the area but will be staying elsewhere when we return, hopefully very soon.

Having stayed all over the Lake District, this has to be one of my favourite place's.
I have stayed here on four occasions now with a group of old School friends, and also on a separate trip with two of my children, in a family room

The setting, and location is great for walking, the accommodation is good, and looking forward to the evening meal every time I stay.

I will continue to visit, and cannot recommend enough

Stayed for three nights dinner b&b and we loved it. The room was clean and comfortable, the ensuite recently refurbished and very modern. Free wifi access was handy as mobile signal in Eskdale is hit and miss. The service was personal and friendly and all the meals were great - great choice, great value, superbly presented. The inn is great for walks from the doorstep, visiting the Eskdale railway and much more. We would love to return.
