As this is my sixth visit to this hotel for celebrating birthdays etc i have always enjoyed my stay and always recommend it it friends and family. My recent visit was as usual very good, good food good rooms and good entertainment. Unfortunately this visit was marred by the unprofessionalism of the late night staff at reception. My friend had a reaction to nuts wich were in the chocolate fudge cake which i might add was not mentioned on the menu although at the time she was unaware she would have a reaction. My friend and i came to reception for help as she could not talk breathe or stand up. Unfortunately the young man behind reception thought this was funny and began to laugh. I asked for a first aider and was told he had left the building 10 minutes before. I then asked for one of them to help and to my amazement they stayed seated on there chairs. By this time my friend could not stand any longer and a passer by got her a chair. My sister in law had to ring for an ambulance while the two gentlemen still stayed in their seat which i thought was a disgrace as by this time she was in and out of consiousnous. I asked for a bag for her to breathe into and the under manager said he didnt have one, after a lot of disagreements over this he then gave me a flimsy platic bin liner. Obviously this young man had no first aid experience and he was left in charge of this hotel. An ambulance and paramedic came and took over from ourselves who were left to look after her. Im disgusted in the way we were treated and my friend spent the night in whiston hospital hooked to a drip. This management did not have the decency to ak the following morning how our frined was and i suppose they dont care.
