Just a minute from the M6 motorway and less than 30 minutes from Manchester, you would only stay here if you were on your way to or from somewhere. For example its halfway from London to Glasgow or 25 minutes from Manchester.

No frills, simple, functional rooms, old tv set, tea/coffee, clean beds. Pleasant reception staff. My only adverse comment is variable water pressure on the shower. The restaurant is a Little Chef right next door, so don't expect Haute Cuisine. Car parking costs £3 per 24 hours, not a big deal.

Many budget hotels advertise low cost rooms, but they are often impossible to find. My stay here was £20. I needed to be in Manchester in the morning, so do I get up early, or go up the night before ? At £20 I go up the night before, but this was a Sunday night, the room rate does change.

I've stayed here quite a few times and never had any problems or cause for complaint, just don't expect too much.

stayed here on our way back from manchester airport checked in at 1am, friendly check in and very swift. sheets had holes in them and the bathroom looked a bit dodgy but we didnt use it apart from the loo. plenty of pillows and was able to sleep. parking was £3 a night we didnt pay as arrived so late and left at 7 but ended up waking up even earlier as worried we would get clamped. they should have free parking. corridors smelt stale and had the air of a uni hall of residence about it.

Booked a "Family Room" here in early September 2011. Stressed in booking and when checking in that room was for two adults and a child.

I was astounded to find that we had to make up the sofa bed ourselves. I appreciate it is a budget hotel but surely when you book a family room the least you should expect is a bed made up for all of you.

Thinking they had allocated us the wrong room I enquired at reception and the very polite (credit where it's due) girl told us it wasn't their policy to make up the sofa bed because some people prefer to use it as a sofa.

Given the proximity to the M6 and Manchester Airport I would imagine many families could be arriving after a tiring journey. The last thing you want it to then make up a sofa bed for your little ones.

I used this Travelodge prior to an early pick up from Manchester airport. There was ample parking, shared with the Little Chef, but you are charged £3 for the overnight stay. The receptionist was pleasant enough. I had a family room which was sparsely furnished, clean but the bedding was a bit thin and tired. You can hear some noise from the main road but not too loud to interrupt sleep
The Liitle Chef is convenient for breakfast if you into that type of fayre.
It advertises 6 miles to the airport, this must be 'as the crow flies' as the first signpost down the road indicates 9 miles.The junction to join the M56 is busy early morning so give yourself ample time.
As I got a £10 deal so I cant really complain.
I wouldnt use it again as a general choice but it was convenient for the pick up.
