Hotel is tired and needs a refurb but for £19 each a night with Full (ish) English breakfast I thought it wasn't a bad deal. Receptionist a bit short of graces but rest of staff were friendly and helpful. Reception area old fashioned but clean and stairs to room clean. Bed comfy and linen clean, plenty of tea and coffee making supplies. Bathroom needs refurb but bath clean and water very hot. Had two really good nights sleep here no problems at all. Breakfast was cereals, small full english and really well brewed tea with toast and jams. Bar was fine and cheap. All but one of the staff I spoke to were friendly and seemed like nice people. TBH I would go back.

1: Receptionist on facebook when i arrived asked to wait 5mins while he paid somebody,
2: when i finally got to my room the room had not been cleaned or bed made from previous guest, it took 3 request for room to be cleaned,
3: Ordered an alarm call for 6am, it did'nt arrive.
4: Shower was a hose fixed to bath taps which i was unable to control the temperature.
5: Breakfast overloaded with beans, and took over 15mins to arrive.

This has to be what i can only descibe as a Squat on a larger scale. The Rooms are dirty the bathrooms are vile!! It was so bad we decided to travel home 4 hours to Hampshire. When we checked out and complained the indian staff on reception were reluctant to give us a refund. After a loy of arguing we got a refund. Whilst we were complaining 3 young lads were about to check in but after asking us how bad it was in my own words "Have you seen the film The Hostel?? "Yes came their reply. In that case i advise you to run away. Which they did!! My advice to all you guys thinking of checking in is...DONT YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

This hotel displays a AAA* quality award but it doesn't come anywhere near to even a 2*. It is a tired, run down hotel with unwelcoming, unfriendly staff and the rooms are grim. The only clean thing about our bedroom was the sheets and the bathroom was poorly decorated with grime around the bath and toilet. One morning the fire alarm bell went off and we discovered that there was no fire regulations or drill posted up in the bedroom. When we mentioned this to the management they said it was in the drawer - a fat lot of good that is when you need to escape in a hurry. The breakfast is terrible - they can't do a soft yolked poached egg and the scrambled egg is to be avoided at all costs as is the fry up. Unfortunately we had to pay for the stay on arrival - a very poor deal and one that I certainly would recommend to avoid at all costs. Plus they allow smoking in their rooms so it stank.
