Overall not a bad hotel. Rooms do need an update, but I understand that this is in hand.
Fast check in. Room decent size, beds comfortable. Good size TV, tea and coffee facilities - no biscuits though. No minibar.
Hand wash and body/hair wash dispensers in bathroom - no other toiletries.
View awful - roof of function room (but of course other rooms will have better view, so probably good idea to ask for a room with a reasonable view).
Decor shabby, marked walls, chipped paintwork.
Not as clean as I would have liked with, for example, dirty window sills and mould in bathroom.
Bathroom functional, not huge and in need of an update. Shower over bath.
Drinks a bit pricey for what they are - eg rather rough (tasted £3.99), Pinot Grigio over £16 a bottle.
Swimming pool good, but bear in mind that The Village has numerous leisure members and so is rather busy.
Buffet breakfast OK. Cereals, fruit, bacon, sausage etc.
Noticed that there was no air-conditioning, not a problem in January, but not appealing in summer.
If you can get a good price this hotel is better than a Travelodge overall.
Room Tip: Ask for a room with a recently renovated room with a decent view.
