“I love it and will always stay here when in the area”

I visit Ashton on a regular basis to do my family history or visit family in the area. I have stayed at Barton Villa on numerous occasions in the past 7 years either on my own or with family. There is always a warm friendly welcome at reception. The rooms have always been very clean and tidy. The breakfast is good with choice of grapefruit , cereal to a full english. Nothing has ever been too much trouble for the staff and they have gone out of their way to accomodate in the past. Great place to stay and I will return time and time again.

When visiting family in Ashton etc, we always stay at the Barton Villa. It is a very friendly hotel and the rooms are spotless and excellent value for money. The cooked breakfast is very tasty and there is always 'seconds' if required. The owners and staff go out of their way to make you feel at home and we would not consider staying anywhere else. We shall be back in 2012.

“Thankful it was only one night”

My husband and I recenly stayed here for a weekend away. We arrived late afternoon and the reception was closed. We were not shown to our room we were pointed in the right direction, we were in the annexe building. The room itself was ok, maybe a little cold, the heating was turned off so even though I tried to but the radiator on it didn't work. The double bed was actually two single beds joined together, one of the main lights didn't have a bulb so the lighting was poor. The bathroom was generally clean but the size of the bathroom especally the shower let it down, I am not a big person, I am a size 10/12 but when I turned around in the shower I either turned the water off or turned the termerature up/down which was quite annoying when trying to wash my hair. One of the main problems was the noise, the walls were extremely thin and we could hear everything in the rooms to the side and below. The breakfast was served until 9.30am, we went down at 9.15am and found all the tables had been used and not cleaned, so we at the move dirty dished. One of the staff came over and asked us what we would like to drink, they didn't move the dirty dishes just brought over a clean mug and side plate. I wanted a full breakfast but was told they were waiting for more sausages and bacon to be cooked so I had to wait which wasn't a problem as they brought over some toast. There were a few guests waiting for food so when it came out we all went over, but they only brought out four sausages and four pieces of bacon so it wasn't like you could fill your plate and have a big breakfast to set you up for the day, and because we had to wait the hash browns and beans had gone cold. All in all a major disappointment.

We are extremely sorry that these guests felt they were unable to enjoy there stay at Barton Villa. We try very hard to ensure that our customers feel comfortable and happy as other reviws portary. We cannot condone the smell in question but at night were unware that it was so strong.
We had newly refurbished an adjacent room which may have caused the smell to linger but this was explained to our guests. We could not antisipate it would sustane.
We would like to mention however that both guests were offered alternative rooms at no extra cost although seperate to each other.

We were made to feel very welcome on arrival at Barton Villa. We were shown to are room and their was a very strong smell of glue, We were told to opened the window. On returning back to are room later that evening the smell of glue was nearly unbearable.
The next morning we realised we only had one bath towel between the two of us and the bathroom wasn't the cleanest !! "Saying that" the breakfast was lovely But all in all i wasn't happy parting with £70 for my stay and will not be retuning.

Myself and 3 friends stayed at Barton Villa for 2 nights as we were attending a concert at the Manchester City Football ground, location wise this was great as it only cost £10 BETWEEN the 4 of us for a taxi there!! We stayed in a family room in the annexe and it was perfect!! away from the main house, kind of felt like a little flat! 2 bedrooms with a flat screen tv in both rooms!!, very spacious very CLEAN bathroom, and very comfy beds(although the double bed had a bit of squeak.) but that is the ONLY thing if anything at all i would have to say thats remotely negative.

Breakfast was lovely, nice selection, staff cant do enough for you...what more can i say, we had a really lovely, comfortable stay in manchester..not too far from the centre, but a bit quieter, lovely local pub literally on the doorstep, The General..nice for a quiet drink in the day and a bit of karaoke at night,,!! and the most amazing indian resturant .Herb and Spice a 10 minute walk up the road..or £2.50 in a taxi(which we got because it was raining) between us that has to be the cheapest taxi ive ever had..lol!!!

all this for just over £200 for 2 nights between 4 of us..BARGAIN..wouldnt stay anywhere else if i ever go back to manchester now we have found Barton Villa.
