I stayed here for one night for work, and as you drive in, you do see the magnificent building which is Crewe Hall. I was disappointed that I was not staying in the old part of the building, but rather the new part - which is an exceptionally long way from the reception!
Nonetheless, the rooms are comfortable with ample space and facilities - staff are very accomodating and very friendly. My only complaint would be the heating - it was a chilly night in Crewe and the windows of the room fill a wall, so even the big curtains struggle to keep the cold out, and combine that with the heating/cooling system which is connected to the main hotel system and was noisy to heat up the room. This was too noisy for my preference for sleep, so I turned it off for the evening, expecting that the room temperature would not drop so significantly as it was connected to the hotel main system. Unfortunately, I woke up freezing in the morning as there was not any warmth in my room at all - but i fully expect that this was my own fault, but a warning to other travellers if you feel the cold - leave the heating on at night!
Was disappointed that I got two single beds pushed together and made invidiually, so essentially I slept in a single bed.
Room service was lovely, and the lady who served the food was most helpful and rang later to see if everything was ok with the food..
Overall it was a pleasant stay, with just a few minor points and would recommend that more staff are put in the restaurant for busy meal times as the staff look very under pressure and flustered at times, although they are always polite!
