My husband and I just celebrated our 3rd anniversary with a trip to the Beaumont Hotel and some horseback riding with RidetheFlintHill, LLC. We enjoyed the hotel and it's history. The food was decent and the service was good, beds were comfy and the view was awesome! We'll be back again, more so for the horseback riding, but the hotel and the town's history is worth a visit as well.

The Beaumont hotel was an interesting place, I have heard about for years from my pilot friends. My wife and I rented a cessna and flew from KC to the grass strip and taxied down main street - that was cool!

The hotel is nothing special though, and it is in the middle of nowhere. Our service experience at dinner runied the trip for us. We arrived and were seated before another couple, but inattentive servers took their orders first, and they ordered two of the last three prime ribs. We had the biggest best room and it was adequate but nothing special, I stay in Hiltons and Mariotts all the time that are cleaner and more updated.

My wife and I walked around all the blocks in town for something to do and admired all the miniature ponies people have there. There were some other planes there, someone in one was trying to get a photo op by buzzing the hotel at 100-200' altitude, totally not legal, myself and another pilot just watched and shook our heads at that.

Bottom line, flying there was most of the fun, now that I've been there and done that, I would not go back, it really wasn't that great.

Beaumont Hotel is located in such a quiet area. If you need to get away from all the rat race of the city then this would be ideal. The Hotel is historical, claimed to be haunted but with my stay I only experience a couple thngs that couldnt be explained. The scenery is beauttiful and relaxing. The sleeping quarters are clean and well kept. Beds are very comfortable and the inn keepers are so friendly and ready to please. The food is to die for....you must try the bisquits with the breakfast that is included with the room, they are melt in your mouth. Just like granma use to make. The blackberry cobbler was fantastic. You will love the food and feeling of being full when you leave the table. Everyone knows everyone and it feels like being part of the family there. There are fly inns that fly in for breakfast on certain days to meet up with each other. The little planes were so cute. My husband loved them. There are many places to visit that are close by that are also historical, lots of memories and monuments. The old water tower is still standing.
I loved it and will stay again when passing through.
