My boyfriend and I have been going to Mexico twice a year for 4 years, for fishing and relaxation. Tiearra Maya provides both of those things, and so much more. The setting, right on the incredibly blue water, in a traditional, small, friendly, fishing village,can't be beat. The hotel it's self, is small, beautiful and clean, but the rooms are big by American standards. They provide bikes and kayaks for their guests, but the swimming and snorkeling that is available right off the dock is some of the best. And the food there is amazing! The real charm, though, comes from the hosts. Kim and Dave Caulkins go out of their way to show their guests genuine friendliness and REAL hospitality.

Just returned from another trip to Tierra Maya in Xcalak. Had an excellent time relaxing in the spacious rooms nestled so close to the beach and dock. Having the kitchen/bar a stones throw away is more than convenient for snacks, lunch, dinner, beer & tequilla. Had my best fishing trip to date fishing with Evaristo and landing 5 permit in 3 days! Gonna be tough to beat, but Im up for the challenge. Travelled with my girlfriend and mom who more than loved their time at Tierra Maya beach combing, biking, kayaking, reading a a whole lot of nothing to fill their days. Kim & Dave are the most excellent hosts who make your stay feel like your visiting family. I cannot wait to return!

The owners, Kim and David, are fine folks, and they have a terrific place. Rooms spotless, staff accomidating, free sea kayaks beckon. Can go just a bit off the beach and tie up to the bouy and snorkel. Also have wi-fi if you wanna go this far and connect with the world...

We just fell in there for a night, and stayed 6. Then the folks at XTC diving, down the road, offer a premium service. Jeanne and Jim run this place and and their daughter Brittany, is a hell of a massage therapist. We were there Feb. 4-10.

My husband, daughter (27) and myself spent 4 days at Tierra Maya just before Christmas this year. We had a wonderfully relaxing time! We enjoyed bike riding, kayaking, and just relaxing under the palms. One of the days we ventured over to San Pedro Belize to sight see. Kim and Dave set up the boat and captain for us. It was extremely easy and we had a great time exploring. Our room at Tierra Maya was very clean and comfortable, the food was delicious, and the staff was very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. We will definitely return! Thanks again for a very memorable vacation!!
