Nice, big and clean rooms, nice staff, great outside pool, quite and relaxing, good food in the restaurant (but quite expencive for the Mexican standards). We intended to take much more cheaper accomodation at Rancherito Uxmal. This place was closed and the only option was Hacienda Uxmal. After the first offer for 1200 pesos/room/night they gave us a nice discount and we ended on the 600 pesos/room/night (som 50 usd) for the room which looked just like that for 1200 pesos :).

The hotel is very beatiful. Every corners are so elegant. At the reception there are photos of kings, queens, statemen etc who stayed in this hotel which created great first impression. the room is very large, elegant and very comfortable. The bathroom is very big and a bit old but very elegant. We are lucky that we have chance to stay in a place like that. The restuarant is very good.

From the moment you arrive, the views, the buildings, the corridors are beautiful, the location could not be better just 50 feet and you are in the archeological ruins, rooms are huge and the staff they treat you like family... super friendly.
And the food it was just superb, from the local food to international cuisine just great!!!
The tranquility of the gardens, pool etc was only interrupted by the singing of the many beautiful birds.
Certainly I recommend this hotel to be one of the best in the Yucatan area.

After an initial glitch in our reservation we were given a room. (Advice: Carry your confirmation showing your PAID reservation!) The room was large, clean and had an open closet which was a good place to hang clothes which I washed or just to air out other clothes. The wide, open corridors had comfortable rocking chairs which offered a perfect place to sit and read. The rooms had television with CNN in English if you need to keep up with latest world disaster. The restaurant accommodated our early start for birding and we ate a full breakfast in the dining room at 6:15 am. It included a plate of fresh fruit which they gladly customized for those who didn't like papaya or who just wanted sliced pineapple. Eggs were cooked in any manner one wished. The walk to the ruins was easy and would've taken just a few minutes if there hadn't been so darn many birds to see along the way. We also walked over to the old hennigan plantation on the other side of the hotel and poked around the historic ruins and grounds there. Back at the hotel there were people swimming in the sparkling pool so I tried it. Freezing!!! I was fascinated by the hotel's historic framed letters and pictures relating to the early explorations of the ruins. I found the rooms above the restaurant that are marked with plaques commemorating famous guests, the Kennedy's, Queen Elizabeth, Indira Gandhi, to name a few. I enjoyed my two night stay tremendously.
