Never before have I ever spent over 3 days trying to make a reservation for a hotel. This hotel, like many others in that area, required a direct cash deposit of the full price of the stay to their account. I was ok with that, but the staff did not give me the correct account info or succural # over the phone (I thus spent multiple trips to the bank since electronically it was not possible.) I speak both spanish and english well, but the staff seemed incompetent to give me the most basic information on price (the price changed each time I called to confirm the reservation, even after paying the full amount ahead of time) Refunds not possible, credit cards not possible. When we got there, the staff seemed truly suprised that we showed up - they were not ready to be hospitable during their peak season (Dia de los Muertos holidays) and still the room rates were ridiculously overpriced.
The TV cable was out. There was no room service and the bathrooms need a make-over. There was no phone or internet service at the hotel, let alone the rooms. The lamps and lighting were below average. The good side was that the rooms were quiet and clean during the festival which goes late-night and could have been very loud. The hotel lobby had nice plants, attractive, and a place to sit that wasn't bad. We did get to sleep (other hotels in the area can be worse according to our fellow travelers!) Also, not pet friendly - a downer for us after shelling out all that money for a reservation. I'm a very patient traveler, but this place was ultimately annoying and I would not recommend it.
