“Never staying at a NH again”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 June 2011

My experience as a customer here was rendered excruciating by the problems I had with my reservation. I had booked and payed with travelocity.com (where I have had no previous problems) and the hotel didn't have my reservation. Even though I had printed confirmation they wouldn't honor it immediatly and it took over a week for me to get a straight answer from someone if they would not charge me the rate for the room. Even now I haven't gotten my money back from them. Worst of all is they would leave hanging on the phone for 10 or more minutes before I dialed again and had the same respones. My requests to speak with the manager (Omar Mayo) were never heeded as he was always in a meeting or at lunch. They never returned my phone calls or sent me an e-mail with information towards resolving my situation. This whole experience will probably make me never stay at an NH property (even though previous stays in other cities had been excellent).

Regarding the rooms I would call them nothing special, with acceptable beds. TV´s were old (though it was nice they had a printed channel guide).

Hallways were not air conditioned (which is a pain in a hot city such as Coatzacoalcos).

Room Service was pretty good with a fine Club Sandwich and prompt service.

Restaurant was a simple affair though Breakfast was a tasty experience with a local dish of spiced Chinameca Meat.

“Will never return”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2008

Hotel clean but you have to insert your key once in the room to get power for ac on. Rooms hot after a hot day at work. 2nd night there returned to find hot room (of course) no towels (toale) and it took them 45 minutes to get me towels...by the way they do not have washcloths. There is Best Western down the road, I plan to stay there next month and will give update.

“Wrong choice”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2005

Chosing the NH in Coatzacoalcos was a very bad choice. Since we made reservation through the web site and got a cheaper price, the staff gave us the worst room: the carpet was smelly and with spots that revealed a recent flow; our window was next to the parking so car’s lights illuminate our room all night long; there was no ice in the machines; the AC was broken; and you can hear the conversations of all the other hosts. Awful experience!!

“Ho-hum. ok for business, otherwise the kids will be bored.”

The hotel is functional, but I am rather surprised that some consider it the best there is in Coatzacoalcos.

Plusses:
It is clean, in a good location, and has a friendly and courteous staff, as well as a good wireless internet connection in every room. The breakfast is plentiful and of good quality. There is a direct shuttle to and from the airport.

Minuses:
The restaurant is a little cramped. The elevators are slow, and there is no air conditioning in the hallways. One must leave a card in a slot by the door in order not to have everything disconnect in the room (including the alarm clock). There are no washcloths in the bathrooms. The hotel itself has no pool, but access is granted by way of a pass to sports facilities next door, that are in need of some repair.
