“Enchanting property....lovely bed & breakfast”

We arrived at the hacienda and were instantly impressed. We were a group of 8, so we had 4 of the 6 rooms reserved. Upon arrival we were greeted with a nice glass of wine. The property is amazing, the kitchen inviting, the vineyards lovely, and the service absolutely warm and welcoming. We had the pleasure of having breakfast with Mr. Miller, the owner, and Mrs. Miller chatted with us and made sure we were comfortable. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The floors are tile, not carpet, and while there are area rugs around the bed, slippers might come in handy in the colder months. There are no keys for the bedrooms, which some may find uncomfortable. The doors lock from the inside, so when going to bed one is able to lock the door. We felt absolutely safe at all times. The bathrooms are well cared for and fully equipped with toiletries and hair dryer, robes, etc. Breakfast is served in the gourmet kitchen and was tasty. In the evening our group of 8 gathered in one of the grand rooms, played the piano, and sipped on wine. The wood burning fireplace made it all extra cozy. There is a pool and a hot tub, both which we did not use due to cold weather. The hacienda has a beautiful courtyard, fountains, and the wine tasting room is just steps away. This place is a perfect spot to get away from it all.

“An enchanting place with a 5 star restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2011

An enchanting location with a magnificent hacienda. The gourmet four course dinner prepared by Chef Marta was incredible along with the award winning wines from this winery. The chef knows exactly how to entice the palate, and exactly the perfect portions of food to serve so that it leaves you feeling completely satisfied without feeling like you overate. The owner and host Tru Miller is an absolute delight, make sure you sit at her table for dinner. I can't wait for my next visit.

“The gorgeous setting and impeccable service make Adobe Guadalupe an ideal relaxing getaway!”

Set in the Guadalupe Valley, Adobe Guadalupe is extremely safe, convenient, and easy to get to- whether you are flying to Tijuana and driving from the airport, or driving from San Diego over the border. We experienced no problems driving over the border. You do not have to be intimidated by the border patrol or police- they are simply doing their jobs. The drive was quite pleasant and relaxing, first along the coastline, and then through lush, rolling hills. The roads were easy to navigate, with very little traffic.

Once we arrived at Adobe Guadalupe we found ourselves in a small oasis- the colonial style courtyard and fountain are charming greeters for what's to come.
*We swam in the pool over-looking the vast vineyards and well-groomed property, with the scent of orange blossoms and jasmine wafting in the clean air.
*We had a private, informative wine-tasting session where we tasted a variety of delicious and complex wines. They grow their own grapes and produce wines that rival any I've tasted from other well known wine-making regions around the world.
*We received a tour of the stables from Marci who oversees the horses as an experienced trainer and instructor.
*We ate delicious gourmet cuisine for dinner and breakfast prepared and served by friendly, culinary professionals. A special note worth mentioning is that they use fresh ingredients from their own garden. I was impressed with the combination of flavors used, and the attention to detail.
*Our private room was clean and spacious, with high ceilings, attractive decor, and air-conditioning or a fan (depending on your preference). And once again, they paid great attention to detail - the comfortable and cozy bedding (I slept so well!), the hair dryer, lavender lotion, fresh bottled water, luxurious robes... they thought of everything.

Tru, the proprietor, was the most lovely and gracious hostess. I highly recommend staying here at Adobe Guadalupe. You will feel relaxed and pampered.
A final note I would like to point out is, you do NOT need to worry about the location. It is perfectly safe. I think the media is painting an unfair negative light on Mexico at the moment based on isolated incidents that have no direct affect on beautiful areas such as Valle de Guadalupe. Go and see for yourself! You won't regret it.

“Adobe Guadalupe and its harmony with us and with nature.”

Adobe Guadalupe Hotel is a special getaway. I was there for only two days and will return for a longer visit. The sunset was majestic and at sunrise you could hear the birds quietly singing. I felt safe driving from San Diego to Adobe. It was an easy drive because the toll roads and main roads were excellent condition.
The staff was gracious and sincere and the meals were outstanding. The wine tasting was fun and informative not only about the wine and vineyard, but also about Valle de Guadalupe and the history of the owners.
I will definitely return and recommend it to my friends here in San Diego.

Room Tip: I have not tips with respect to the best room.
