The hotel has nothing worth mentioning, but the food at their restaurant is the best I've tasted.
Location is great for those who want to visit the Park.

Reputation of the Gite preceeds it and is well deserved. We did 3 hotels of the SEPAQ and the Gite ranked second (first choice is Auberge Fort Prevel and third choice is Auberge de Montagne Chics Chocs).

Fort Prevel is cheaper and has the best food. Ranked as a third star it is a sure value. The gite du Mont-Albert is a four stars but it is a victim of its success. It is busy and you don't have this privileged customer feeling Fort Prevel has. Room at the gite was decent with a view of the swimming pool which was closed the whole time we were there. Diner menu is interesting. Breakfast is a true disappointment though. It is a very ordinary buffet. Highlight of the Gite is the wonderful hiking you can do around the premise. We had good weather and could appreciate the beauties surrounding the hotel with long pleasant strolls.

So we had a good stay overall.

Very large and clean rooms. The service was as expected. It is a beautiful Inn built in the '30 and nicely renovated.
HOWEVER .... our package included buffet breakfast, what a disappointment. Very ordinary, hot food was cold and they serve canned fruits. Far from the 4-start hotel advertised.

The Gite du Mont-Albert is located along road 299 in the parc de la Gaspésie. The location is actually one of a motel, so don't think it is going to be a romantic hotel located far away in the wilderness. Yet, the mountains surrounding the place are beautiful.
Our room was exactly the kind of room you find in a motel: dark with an old carpet. Everything looked quite oldish, nothing fancy. The rooms must date from the early eighties. It was the most expensive hotel in 4 weeks holidays in Canada, and the first one not providing free Wi-Fi in the rooms. Actually internet was available only in the reception area, at a very slow speed. Furthermore, the breakfast was not included in the price.
The price you pay for this hotel is definitely too high for what they offer. We don't recommend to stay there for a trip in the parc de la Gaspésie; try rather a hotel in Saint-Anne des Monts (20 min. by car).
