Stayed here before I knew the new Holiday Inn Express had opened. The reception staff was reasonably friendly and because the place wasn't busy, they gave me a room near an exit, as I requested (was in St. Hyacinthe for the veterinary hospital, with a sick pet). The carpet was smelly (despite being a non-smoking hotel, you can smell the years of old cigarette smoke), the bedspreads were awful, thin, and had a 'plastic' feeling, and there is no high-speed internet in the rooms. They'll lend you a cable, but the connection cut in and out. There's a nice area in the middle of the hotel with plants and waterfalls, but the guest rooms are very outdated. This was more expensive (about $130 on a slow night in April) than the brand new Holiday Inn (about $110). I considered moving next door to the "Dauphin" (they quoted me $85) where they had high speed internet, but borrowed an ethernet cable from the front desk instead. Wish I'd stayed somewhere else. Even for 1 night, the gross smells and outdated linens were unpleasant. They have a restaurant but on the night I was there, no room service was available.
