Great place for a vacation on a lake.
We rented the pumpkinseed chalet with a nice private lake.
Included with the chalet: a canoe, two kayaks and two rowboats.
The chalet has no electricity, but we had gas lamps and solar power for the refrigidator.
If you want nice peace and quiet,this is the best place..
We had a fantastic time with our kids: swimming in the lake,catching fish with fishnets,
Catching frogs, walking in the woods and we even tried the clay shooting. It was a perfect small vacation
All the personnel of the fairmount were super nice and helpfull.

We spent a weekend in July at the Hidden Chalet and found that it's really not so hidden!. From ealry mprnng til late afternoon people would anchor about 30 feet from our "private" dock and fish to their heart's content. One small boat had 9 people in it and totally ignored the fact that we were sitting on the dock reading and trying to relax. Nice place after sunset. It's just the 12 hours of dayight that are the problem. Fairmont should take a greater interest in this property.

We loved out trip. Enjoyed shooting clays and seeing animals. Staff was fantastic. We had a car accident while there and we were over whelmed by the staff response. They helped us get assistance, drove us around town, spoke with the garage for us, relayed information to our family. They were genuinely concerned for our welfare. Even keeping tabs on us to be sure we were alright. Even wreaking the car did not wreak our trip to Fairmont Kenauk. We can not wait to go back again.

We stayed at one of the secluded cottages for three days at Fairmont Kanauk. It was absolutely amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our little cabin in the woods. It is so peaceful and quiet you can't help but relax. We had a wonderful evening show at dusk while a pair of loons played and did a show for us over the calm lake one evening, and an amazing show of northern lights in the sky one night . This is how cottage life and getting away from all should be. The facilities are just wonderful and the cabins are very well equipped. Nothing was left out -- every small thing is though of to make your stay worry free. All the ameneties were in perfect working order and we had everything that you could think of for our our fantastic stay. This was the highlight of our summer vacation amonngs other great trips we took in July and August. We will definately be back this fall for a weekend getaway and another quiet retreat!
