My family has been travelling to beautiful Prince Edward Island for nearly two decades, and traded in hotels for campgrounds after purchasing a motor home nearly a decade ago. During this time, we have never stayed at the same campground twice…stating “we’ll know the one we want to return to when we find it”…and find it we did!

Staying at White Sands in North Rustico, PEI was a truly heavenly experience from start to finish. Booking our stay was effortless, and I enjoyed speaking with the owner, Chris, who made me feel like I was talking to a long lost cousin. The short trip to White Sands led us down a breathtaking red dirt road lined with lupines that was reminiscent of Prince Edward Island before the tourism boom. Then, upon our arrival, everyone greeted us with open arms and Chris even came out to greet the children and I who were in the truck waiting for my husband to check in. The grounds were beautiful and our spot was perfect; lots of space, clean grounds, a fire pit, picnic table, shade trees, close to the spotless bathrooms so I could shower after my girls used all the hot water in the camper…everything we needed and wanted…and more.

My 20th College Class reunion was held right in the middle of our nine-day stay, and some of my friends rented White Sands’ Cabins…which were cozy, tidy and affordable. We all spent our evenings barbecuing and relaxing by the fire with no problems or issues. Plus, Chris and Tanya, the office manager, were as welcoming to our friends as they had been to us and really helped to kick the reunion off on the right note. Then just when we thought things couldn’t get any better, Chris arranged for a Canada Day boat ride for us (something we had always wanted to do) and also made it possible for us to get lobsters fresh off the boat on the last day of the season.

During our entire vacation, White Sands’ staff were as friendly as could be and greeted us like family even when meeting them outside the resort. I can honestly say that we have never felt more relaxed, more welcomed, or had more fun. As my title statement says…we have found paradise and will never stay anywhere else now that we have found White Sands.

Leaving Chris, Tanya, and the rest of the staff felt like we had left family behind. We all agreed, we came as strangers and left as friends, and it just doesn’t get any better than that.

We can’t wait for our return trip…hopefully once again this season, so we won’t have to wait an entire year!

The White Sands campground was a lovely place, with nice tenting spots in a field, clean bathrooms, and many little cabins ideal for small or large groups. The cabins had a kitchen, TV, two bedrooms, a bathroom, and even a grill for barbecuing! The kitchens were well stocked with pots, pans, teakettles, utensils, a microwave, and a toaster. The setting was scenic and located close to the shore and to popular attractions. Most of all, I would recommend White Sands for excellent and very friendly service! Kris was amazing, and we couldn't wish for a more helpful and welcoming host!

The staff were absolutely incredible! They helped us to arrange day trips that define PEI such as deep sea fishing, horseback riding on the beach, high tea at Dalvay-By-The-Sea, clam digging and lobster dinners. Being able to jump on the small bus into town as provided by the campground was a great feature! The park was clean, close to major attractions without being a tourist trap and we had no noise complaints. The cabins contain the necessities but if you are looking for crystal and silk linens this is not the place for you. We had heard that there may be skunks in the area but had no encounters and accepted this possibility as part of being in a campground/ nature! All in all the staff made us feel so welcome and helped us to make our trip truly unique! We would definitely make a return trip and stay here again.

Central location close to all attractions,super friendly staff that went out of their way to ensure a great holiday.The staff helped us arrange siteseening,claming,deep sea fishing c/w recomendations to the most affordable dinning establishments all at no cost.Clean, comfortable cabins with modern appliances.Quiet at night -no noise issues at all.A perfect central jump off point for day trips or lounge by the pool.The owner took the time to ferry our group to town in his micro bus for a fantastic lobster dinner,this alowed us to partake of some local beverages and not have to worry about driving.To me this defines Hospitality.We didn't turn on the tv so I can't comment on the channels available but then we didn't fly to PEI to watch TV.Great stay,it's not the Hilton but a clean family run cottage/campground.If you need valet parking thia is not for you
