We stayed here for 2 nights on a driving tour of Eastern Canada. Originally had thought of staying in Charlottetown, but were not impressed with reviews of those so my husband found this one instead - and what a good choice it was!
We had originaly booked the Victorian Room (in the main house) but when we arrived they upgraded us (at no extra cost) to Room No. 2. It was beautifully decorated, with lots of antiques etc around and many nice touches, such as music system with headphones, torch in bedside table, good range of toiletries). Bathroom was nice, with proper shower cubicle (always better than the over-the-bath type in most hotels). No tea or coffee-making facilities in room but owners were happy to make tea for us when we asked.
Bed was very comfortable and had the option of using air conditioning or opening windows (opted for the latter) so enjoyed comfortable nights' sleep.
Hot breakfast (served by Judy & Gary's daughter) was wonderful - nice choices and very well cooked and prepared. It was nice to have the chance to sit down with other guests and chat.
Great location - very nice & peaceful. Don't miss a visit to the church opposite (oldest Catholic charch on PEI) and the small museum and house next door. Judy is a mine of information on the area and only too happy to share it with you.
Judy & Gary made us very welcome - in fact, almost the first thing Gary did was invite us to the event that was taking place that night in the museum!
Would definitely recommend to anybody visiting PEI; Charlottetown is okay to visit but this was a much nicer area to stay. Also very convenient for visiting Green Gables at Cavendish.
